Extremely disappointed by the lack of customer support
I was a Shout customer for several years, and initially I had a great experience. The platform worked well, customer service was responsive, and I regularly recommended Shout to others. Unfortunately, my experience has changed dramatically over the past year or two.
Support has become increasingly difficult to reach, response times have slowed significantly, and the platform seems to have received very few meaningful updates. After dealing with these issues for some time, I ultimately decided to move my business texting service to another provider.
The most frustrating part has been trying to port our long-established business phone number. Our new provider submitted the port request through Twilio, but we were told the transfer is waiting on approval to release our number from Shout.
For nearly two weeks, my assistant and I have tried repeatedly to get help. We have contacted Shout through the in-app support chat, phone calls, texts, email, LinkedIn, Facebook Messenger, and even a direct message to the founder.
We have received no response through any of these channels. The in-app chatbot has also been unable to connect us with an actual person.
At this point, I’m not asking Shout to convince me to stay or resolve my concerns with the platform. I simply need someone to respond and help facilitate the release of our business number so we can move forward with our new provider. Being unable to reach anyone while an important business phone number is essentially stuck in limbo has been incredibly frustrating and disruptive.
I’m especially disappointed because Shout was once a company I was genuinely happy to recommend. I would gladly update this review if someone from Shout responds and resolves the issue, but based on our recent experience, I cannot recommend the service to businesses that depend on responsive customer support or need confidence that they’ll be able to take their business number with them when they leave.

No Response from Shout
I used to love Shout. It was one of my favorite platforms to recommend to my clients. Unfortunately, the last 1-2 years has been rough. Shout is glitchy and the support team is nonexistent. About two weeks ago, my client decided to port her number to a different platform. However, we need Shout’s approval to move forward with the port. My client and I have tried several times, through several different channels, to get in touch with someone at Shout to approve the port, with no luck. If you’re looking for texting software that has a great customer service department and that is quick to respond, look somewhere else.

It was mediocre, current experience is terrible.
A number of weird glitches that I have just dealt with because the price goos relative to other bulk texting apps, but annoying to have to deal with, especially when the cost is low relatively speaking but still significant. But now the app has cut off our number and access to our customers with no warning, due to their own system upgrade. We will lose thousands of dollars, not to mention the time and stress this has caused. The customer service response to this issue has been terrible.

Not impressed
Getting into the app there are no prompts to show me where everything is and what things are used for…idek if there is a way I can send the same message to multiple people separately…I’m not sure if this is even possible. Also no help at all from the message center support. Help would be great thanks.

Five Stars, Fabulous, & Multifunctional!
Personalized! I love that I can message straight from the app, and the recipient sees a note from me with a real phone number.
Versatile! Helps me compartmentalize:
• church
• work
• family
Easy to use! It’s not rocket science. And there’s a lot of helpful how-to videos and articles for anything you can’t figure out.
Customer service is so friendly and helpful!
