What's New in TickZone

1.02

July 30, 2026

Fixed: the "Recent rain" readout wasn't counting today's rainfall, and the forecast could get stuck showing numbers from an old fetch. The risk model was computing correctly the whole time; the bugs were in what the app displayed. Your town now refreshes every time you open the app, and if the network is unreachable, the app says the data is older instead of presenting it as current.

Broken?

- Weather is basically raining down cats and dogs
- 0’0” of recent rain

Yeah sure buddy

Response from developer

You caught a real bug. The recent rain total was covering the last 7 days but cutting off at yesterday, so the rain falling on you that day never counted. It's fixed on our end, so it's already working in the app you have. Sorry about that, and thanks for calling it out.

So Helpful!

This app has honestly been so helpful for me and my family. We are now able to plan our hikes on days and times where the risk is lower and I’ve been finding significantly less ticks. I am also finding myself much less stressed about being outside and I’ve been getting much more fresh air!

Response from developer

Planning hikes around the risk instead of skipping them is exactly what we hoped people would do with this. Thanks for writing this!

Una aplicación increíble

Esta aplicación me ha cambiado la vida. Antes tenía miedo de salir en el bosque por esas garrapatas malditas, pero ya estoy bien gracias a usted!

Wish I had this earlier

I love TickZone! I live in an area where ticks are present and have a dog who loves to run in the woods and three active kiddos. .. two of my kids (and dog!) have gotten bitten by ticks and one developed a disease from it. I believe that if I had had TickZone to refer to for guidance, some of these bites could have been prevented! I love seeing the hour-by-hour prediction and planning my trail and park -outings with that in mind.
