Incredibly useful app!

I dinged it one star for usability. It’s not a huge problem, but it has room to improve. I would give it an enthusiastic five stars, otherwise. As a bluegrass bassist, you’re essentially the kick drum. You don’t time to them so much as they time to you. If your internal clock is off, the whole band suffers. This app seems so much more effective than just a basic metronome. Love it!

All you need and nothing more

I have been using the app for years to practice drumming and regularly use it for live gigs as well. It’s incredibly versatile and has all the functions one needs to play around and utilize time.

Incredibly Versatile

but subtle

excellent

great for developing internal clock.

Best metronome ever

Avi is the best

Best metronome app on iPhone, I recommend it to everyone

Its real good

Best metronom app out there

this is by far the best app for timing practice I know. After years of trying different apps. This one is it!!!

Love this app

This app is helping me get better at rhythm one click at a time. It’s not super fancy. But I like that since my main goal isn’t to learn a metronome tools it’s to learn how to count for my instrument.

A joy for musicians

I’m a piano teacher and gigging musician and I’ve used this for years, it’s one of my favourite apps.

Functionally, it’s perfect.

Aesthetically, I do think it would benefit from a modern visual redesign to reach a wider audience as the app could easily appeal to millions of musicians.

Also, I would reduce the number of quirky but less useful metronome sounds and set the default to something nice like woodblock two.

Thank you to the developers for their outstanding work, I’m incredibly grateful.

Why are you practicing?

Excellent app!

I am a piano teacher, and this app is fantastic for learning to feel uneven pulses for pieces such as Bartok's Bulgarian Dances. I have a suggestion—is there a way I can send a preset to one of my students? If not, could you enable that in a future version? Again thanks for a very valuable app!

Response from developer

HI there. Thanks for the review! And YES - the latest update allows for sending your presets to someone else (as long as their using the iOS version for iPhone (or iPad)). Go to Presets and select the Transfer button at the top right.

Was great. Even better.

This is a neat metronome that breaks the fourth wall of metronomes. 5d chess
Please add acciaccatura (grace notes)!

My favourite metronome!

Thank you for the update! I love Time Guru for the random mute function and the ability to build bars of odd rhythms I need to practise.

Better Pre-Update

There was a major update a month or two ago that, for me, turned this app from a 5 to a 2. It has become sluggish, with the flashing light no longer lining up with the sound, and the whole experience off the app went from something crisp to something that feels like it’s being managed by bad AI. Something I liked in the old version is that my phone wouldn’t sleep when using my metronome even on low power mode, which helped my phone last longer as a metronome. This is also gone. The update did nothing to improve my experience with the app, and I’m a professional who practices 2-3 hours per day. I’ve considered a new metronome, sadly.

Hello Tsalm. Are you still having visual sync issues? Everything works fine on my test devices. Is this with bluetooth or just on the device? You can contact me at timeguruvoxbeat@gmail.com. Thanks.

This update is no good

I loved this product until it stopped being able to function below 65 BPM. Please fix or I’ll have to get a new metronome

Fantastic Metronome App

Thank you for updating the metronome to gradually increase/decrease tempo over time. A very welcome addition to an already fantastic app.

Incredible for developing internal rhythm

The two standout features are the way you can mute randomly or in patterns you create. And the ease of creating odd meters. Super helpful.

100bpm no longer works

i’m not sure how you messed this up but the tempo skips from 99 to 101 after the latest update. you straight up cannot select 100bpm

new update made it suck

they changed a bunch of features on it and now i don’t want to use it because they reorganized everything or maybe even removed some things. sometimes i want it to function like a normal metronome and it literally sucks for that now
