About
Tone Translator is an accessibility-focused communication aid for moments when conversational tone is hard to read.
Start recording when you want support. Tone Translator turns spoken conversation into simple cues: a short tone label, confidence context, and a neutral next-step suggestion. The goal is not to judge anyone's intent. It is to give you a calmer way to pause, understand the moment, and decide what to do next.
What you can do:
- Start recording manually when you want help
- See concise tone cues such as calm, tense, direct, or uncertain
- Get neutral suggestions, such as asking a clarifying question or taking a pause
- Review local history on your device
- Delete recordings and local history from privacy controls
- Use readable, low-stimulation screens designed for quick scanning
Privacy and control:
- No always-on listening
- Recording starts only when you choose
- Audio and transcripts may be processed by Apple Speech Recognition and secure backend services to provide app functionality
- Backend processing is designed to be ephemeral
- Your in-app history is saved on your device until you delete it
- Device identifiers are used for app functionality such as account/session and quota handling, not advertising tracking
Important:
Tone Translator provides AI-generated estimates that can be wrong. It is an assistive communication tool, not a medical device, diagnostic tool, therapy service, or emergency service. Tone cues should be treated as suggestions, not facts about another person's feelings or intent.
