Scam app

Do not subscribe! App doesn’t work as advertised, times out when you scan. Store wont refund this scam subscription

Not there yet.

The concept of the app is amazing, but the app is just not it. You pay a $20 Subscription for "access to vets and the forum" where ALL of the questions go unanswered, & no vet ever responds to anything. The scanning feature is nice, but chatgpt can do the same for free if you just ask if a product is toxic or not & send a link. Kind of feel scammed by the app but whatevs. maybe in a few years, this app could actually be worth $20. It needs more users & work

Come a long way

Redownloaded the app after some time and was pleasantly surprised by the improvements. It’s smoother, more user-friendly, and way more reliable than before. Great job to the team!

Response from developer

Thank you so much. We've been getting a lot of great feedback lately, and it’s helped shape some exciting new features and improvements we have in the pipeline. The work never really ends, but hearing this kind of feedback keeps us going. Thanks again for taking the time to share.

A.I use

The entire apps picture of the stuff bad for animals is AI generated

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the feedback. We’ve built our knowledge base from over 700,000 ingredients, compounds, and chemicals reviewed for pet safety. With a small team, it was financially and logistically impossible to gather real images for all of them, so we focused on generating visuals that are as close and recognizable as possible. We’ve heard this feedback from other users as well, and we have it on our roadmap to improve in 2025. Hopefully, over time, we can transition to more real images in stages. Every feedback helps us make ToxiPets better for pet owners everywhere. Thank you again.

Could not scan anything

So I tried scanning products after I downloaded the app, nothing worked but app still said I ran out of free scan even though it keeps saying failed please try again later. I then went to pay for the yearly subscription anyway because I have 6 cats. Same. Tried different products throughout different lighting and settings for 30mins. After scanning/taking photos with the app, it keeps saying failed, please try again later. So far, out a $20, 30mins and gained a lot of frustration. Maybe before charging people money, you can actually make sure your product works.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, and we're really sorry for the frustration. That experience isn’t what we want for our users. We’re currently conducting testing across a wide range of devices to ensure the camera feature works consistently for everyone. Your report is incredibly helpful for that effort. In the meantime, if you're open to it, we’d love to work with you directly to troubleshoot and make things right. You can reach us anytime at admin@chivelab.com. Also, we’re happy to issue a refund while we sort this out. Thanks again for giving ToxiPets a try.
