App suddenly doesn’t work on iPhone anymore
Worked fine last week. Now I am unable to log in. EVEN MORE ANNOYING is that i can’t access content via website on my phone either as it forces me to then download the non- functional app!!
So far so good
I like to keep a journal whenever I take big trips to send to family to report my daily travels. I’ve only used email and found it awkward to send pictures and then have no way to print and keep in the end. I just found this app two weeks ago before a left for Great Britain. I’m using it daily as I travel and so far it’s been easy to use on my mobile phone and send the confidential link to family. I look forward to printing the journal once I’m home.

Solid journaling app with photo limitations
After doing some research on travel journaling apps, I chose this one to start the long overdue process of digitizing my handwritten travel journals from the past four decades. Entering text is very easy, and there are numerous page layouts to choose from. However, there are limitations with regard to where and how photos can be placed in the layouts and the sizing of them. Wish the app had more flexibility to edit size and place photos exactly where you want them. I ordered my first set of printed copies of a journal from one trip and was reasonably impressed at the quality of the printed book. I signed up for the annual subscription so I can enjoy other benefits as well. Other apps I’ve used are much better with handling large numbers of photos, but I like that this one handles a lot of text very well with just a few photos thrown in for visual appeal.

Superbe!
J’attendais une telle app depuis longtemps pour me lancer dans la rédaction d’un livre de voyage. J’avais vu des app de type journal quotidien mais j’étais à la recherche d’un app pour rédiger en numérique en retour de voyage où j’ai pris des notes à la main. Travel diaries me permet assez facilement de rédiger, mettre en forme, ajouter des cartes et des images, de manière complémentaire sur le web ou dans l’app, puis de partager ou d’imprimer (je n’ai pas encore reçu mon livre résultat pour témoigner sur ce point). Les possibilités de mise en page ne sont pas infinies mais au moins elles sont simples à effectuer. J’apprécierais quand même des améliorations comme de pouvoir justifier le texte ou de mettre des emojis, des tableaux, etc.

Great idea
I love the concept, and have been doing pen and paper travel logs for a while now, but the way the app works is not very intuitive. It would help a lot if I could choose a layout FIRST and then write to fill the page. Currently you write everything out, choose a layout and hope your photos land where you want. Loading pics and pages of text takes forever, it freezes, and I’ve lost pages of writing on a few occasions. It took a solid day to figure out how to use it

Nearly perfect (for me!)
I have searched for an app for a long time which enabled me to keep a travel journal with photographs which could be easily printed in book format as well as published on line. I’ve now found it and completed my first one (many more to follow as I’m playing catch up.) The online version is good and I have just received the printed book which has blown me away. It looks so good. So why 4 stars and not 5? I am picky and I would like more flexibility to be able to include some wider photos. I had to crop elements out of some because I couldn’t reduce them to fit the template. (If this is my ineptitude I am happy to be taught and add in the star!) The other thing I would like to see is the option to make some of the photo boxes bigger and swap them and the text boxes around.
It isn’t a difficult app to use; my only challenges were trying to make it do something it doesn’t!
Overall though I am very happy and I am now part way through my second book.

Kindness of Travel Diaries
My husband and I recently returned from fabulous trip to Palm Cove and I compiled a journey with pics of our trip. TravelDiaries were just fantastic, I accidentally ordered two copies quickly realised my error and contacted them. They checked it out and happily refunded cost of one however they sent the second as a ‘gift’. So very grateful, fantastic service and advice. I’ve used TD previously and already I am compiling my next journal. Thank TD…Sue…Australia

Great little app
I like how it works and the fact you can add 20 pictures to each chapter. Support was helpful too when I had a small issue. Was resolved quickly. I recommend this app.
Practice and play with it before you start your journey
I was recommended this app by a friend who has used it multiple times. I like it, but figuring out how the features work is more complicated than it appears. Writing the journal is pretty straightforward, but adding pix is more involved. There are multiple steps that need to be done in a certain order for the pix to appear in each chapter. Also, if you want to make your journal available to friends or anyone, you need to use the Share key. You can make the entire journal public or just selected chapters.
I suggest you play with it well before you are traveling to avoid frustration. When I used the app on my desktop, the FAQ section answered a lot of questions, but I wasn’t able to find this when I was using my IPad.
Now that I’m more familiar with the app, I will use it on future trips.

Too expensive
The subscription is $50 a year! And if you choose to print your book at the end of that you still have to pay a VERY high price to print it (way higher than any other photo book printing service). The platform itself is very nice and a great idea but definitely not worth that price.

Great App!
I’ve been a subscriber since late 2022. I’ve created 10 travel journals and just regular photo journals. In the beginning, the learning curve has been steep because of limited formats but last year they launched more options and truly grateful for that. A few weeks ago, I encountered several issues with panorama pictures but the response from Paula and support team was quick and they resolved the situation immediately, exceeded my expectations. I encountered issues in the past and their support has always been the same, great response time and problems solved. Also the printed journals are of high resolution and very happy to share with a lot of people.

I recently started using Travel Diaries and had a couple of issues that were fixed very quickly. Paula provides excellent customer service and makes sure the app works effectively for you. It is exactly the app I was looking for - diary for our big trip, with photos, can be printed as a book and shared as a blog. Perfect!

Awesome app
I love how easy it is to create a keepsake for my trips. Emojis would be great!!
Hard to use and bad design
It seems like this app only wants to make you pay to print a journal. I don’t want to print it, I want it to look nicely formatted on the screen, with photos. Having to only see a miniature “preview” screen to see the text with photos is ridiculous. I have deleted the app, it was a mistake and waste of time.

I loved this so and my diary
I used this app daily as I traveled throughout Europe. It was so easy to use. Once home I added the photos and then had the book printed.
The end result was a stunning memory of my trip with 208 pages of photos and my notes.
I love this app and I am recommending it to anyone who will listen. I can’t wait to use it again.

Great Layout Options
This is the only app that allows you to easily mix photos with lots of text and create a formatted book. There are a lot of different formats to arrange the photos too, which make it quick to produce beautiful finished documents.

Enjoying the app
I was previously using another travel blog but it wasn’t being maintained properly so needed to find an alternative. After looking at a few others, I decided to use this one as it has such great features, can be used on the desktop or phone, & has so many beautiful layout options.
The only things on my wish list for this app are:
- faster uploads of images (I don’t know if this is possible but images can take 20-30 seconds per image to upload on 4G)
- the ability to zoom in on the text when you’re in layout mode so you can see where to add images
- the ability to rearrange images in a layout once uploaded
Overall, I really like the app as is. The above would just make it even better

Love this app!!
I’ve been using Travel Diaries for almost three years and I absolutely love it! My husband and I moved overseas for an Expat assignment, so I’ve been blogging ever since and my family and friends love getting to see all our pictures and read about our adventures along the way. I’m on my 10th book and I can’t wait to get them all printed so I can have all of these amazing memories to look back on! So far, I have gotten three books printed and the quality is great! I highly recommend this app as it’s easy to navigate and a great way to have all of your memories be put into a book to share with anyone or just read to reminisce for yourself.
