Not properly maintained

The app is OK but it could be better. It doesn’t seem like anyone actually cares to maintain the app. For example the Travel option adds weird times, often saying that things are our apart when their minutes apart. When I go to delete the travel in between activities, it always adds itself back eventually. So now I have all of these weird commute times in between my activities that don’t make sense and make the itinerary look sloppy. When I went to try to report this in the app by selecting “report a bug/get Support”, it said that the page was not found… smh. Do better.

Great App

This app is great. Easy to use and has so many great features! Definitely plan on using this app to plan my next trip!

Cross compatibility

I’ve been using this app to plan my bachelorette party and I love this app but I can’t share my itinerary with half my girls because it’s not compatible with android, Samsung, or google phones. Not everyone has Apple so it’s best to make your app cross compatible for all devices.

Response from developer

Thank you for using our app and for your feedback. We are fixing known bugs and hope to launch in 2025 on Android. We wish you all the best.

Very difficult to use

Need improvement

Overall good but some hiccups

So far I am liking this app very much. I am using it to plan a trip to London and with the exception of o e bug I am finding it useful.

When adding an activity to a daily itinerary the transportation menu only gives you walk, car, bike as options and excludes public transportation. Once you have added the activity you have to select the travel time in the itinerary and switch it to public transportation.

It would be nice if the app tied into Google maps and calculated transportation time rather than relying on the person to figure it out.

Hi Jemiaule, We’re stoked to know you’re enjoying our app so far. Thank you for your suggestion regarding public transport. We’ve been trying to find a way to facilitate this for some time. Even as we use our own app, this has always been an issue and we always have to use at least another app to plan days with transit involved. Unfortunately, tying the product to Google Maps will force us to compromise certain functionality, such as offline use, since Google doesn’t let us cache their data. We’re currently working on an interface solution to make it easier to add public transport - most likely coming in the next major update - and are actively looking for a public transport data platform to make it possible to plan both activities and transit in the same app. We hope that the next release will at least partially address this and that we can find an elegant solution in the medium term. Please let us know if there’s any other feedback you have and we’ll gladly take it into account as we build out Tour. Thanks again! Best wishes, The Tour Team.

Looks great, super useful.

Great for people who enjoy outstanding graphic visuals as opposed to bland black and white itineraries thrown together on Google docs.

It’s Okay.

Pretty user friendly interface and easy to use. However, when I enter dates and activities it often doesn’t save and ends up getting deleted when I go back to look at it for some reason.

Best travel App

I’ve used this for my last 5 trips. I’m never going back to TripIt!

Beautiful

I am absolutely blown away at how beautiful this app is. I am building apps with the same technology that the developers of this app uses, and I admire them for being able to pull this off so well.

A lot to love but room for improvement

I’ll start with what I love:
- Beautiful UI with nice details throughout
- Does a great job of using location photography and the UI to make the places your going exciting (compared to a lot of overly utilitarian apps out there like TripIt)
- The map with lines to where all you’re going and the sequence is awesome and something I’ve really wanted on past trips before finding this app
- Easy to discover places to go in the city you’re going

What still needs some work:
- When searching for places to add, the font size is too large and cuts off the right end of names so it can be hard to tell which is which (like with hotel names that can be different locations for the same chain)
- Before getting to exact times for each place you want to go there needs to be a staging step where you can add locations w/o time to decide on which you want to go to, then add a time or to the timeline after sharing or knowing for sure you want to go.
- The drag and drop is frustrating currently because as you add more places to the timeline it ends up making existing ones shorter instead of pushing them to the next hour. Having to go back and make something that became 10-15 minutes (which very few events make sense to be that short) and resizing them doubles to triples the time it takes to add all the events.

What would make it a 6 star app:
- Having hotels in it is fantastic...but why not the flights? If you’re going to multiple destinations it leaves an odd whole in your timeline to not have the flights and be able to plan for how early you need to checkout of the hotel or how much time you have for other stuff.
- iPhone is great for while you’re traveling, but an iPad version would help a ton for planning the trip and seeing the details of locations and events with more room.

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for your review! We’re delighted to know you’re enjoying our app so far. The staging step is a bit difficult to integrate on iPhone without compromising the planning experience, but we’ve definitely been looking at different ways to add that in the near future (currently slated for version 2.0). We’ll look at optimizing the drag and drop algorithm and will see if we can figure out a way to fit the entire venue title in. Thank you for pointing that out! Our very next update is centered around transportation between destinations, and we will try our best to integrate an interface for flight / train booking soon. iPad optimization is also on our list. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Feel free to reach out if there’s anything else you’d like to mention. Best wishes, The Tour Team.

Crashes on startup

Tried this app during the beta and liked it, but I did not get to try it much. Now I can’t get it to work because all it does is crash.

Edit: Still crashes on startup. I did not say it crashes when opening old trips because I can’t even open the app.
Edit2: I don’t know if it’s a bot answering my reviews, but again: opening old trips is not the issue. The issue is that I can’t open the app because all it does is crash. I wish I could enjoy the potential of this app, but it is impossible when it won’t open.
Edit3: App is now working!

Response from developer

Hello, Opening legacy trips has historically been difficult to make bug-free. Our 1.7.5 update focuses on fixing a lot of the errors associated with opening old trips. Please let us know if that has resolved your issue. Thank you for your patience as we develop Tour. Best wishes, The Tour Team. EDIT: Hello, Most of the time the CEO or Lead Developer answers the reviews; this is the first time we’ve amended the response, I guess App Store sent the notification twice. We actually haven’t been able to locate your bug in our log. I would highly appreciate it if you could email us at founders@tourapp.co and tell us the last time you tried opening the app, so that we can go through our log and locate the crash. Thank you once again for letting us know. Best wishes, The Tour Team.

Good Start, More Features Please!

Have just migrated to this app from Travefy. It’s a welcome sight to see a modern interface and a good start to the app.

Some of the menus don’t quite make sense yet - eg if you’ve entered a single destination for a trip you have to tap into the same destination twice (eg America > America) before you can enter activities.

Transport is a glaring omission at present, would be great to see flights, trains etc... included, with the ability to tag different people to different transport activities so that everyone can see inbound or outbound arrangements.

Can’t wait to see how this develops!

Hello Electro Bubble, Thank you so much for your feedback! We're actually working on redesigning the Destinations interface with transport between them for our very next update, coming out in a few days. We plan on implementing Transit between activities sometime soon as well, and collaboration is on our roadmap further down the line. Feel free to email us at founders@tourapp.co at any time if you have anything else that you'd like us to take a look at. Best wishes, The Tour Team.

This has so much potential

Looking forward to seeing this continue evolving.

Buggy

Adding more than 2 cities to a trip didn’t work. Sometimes a third popped up, but when adding a fourth both the third and fourth just disappeared.

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for letting us know. We will release a fix as soon as we can. Please feel free to report any bugs or issues via our email, founders@tourapp.co. Happy traveling!

Room for improvement.

UI seems nice but functionally there are some issues as others have mentioned. Right now I can’t even remove a trip, it just freezes up during the loading state. Really want something like this to work but at the least, devs should have some sort of tests in place that catch these kinds of major bugs.

Edit: originally gave 3 stars but I literally can’t even open my trips now without an error. It’s not functional at all.

Hello, We apologize for the inconvenience. We agree, there is certainly room for improvement and are currently working on the next version. Although we do have testing in place to prevent what you experienced, something has clearly escaped our attention. Even now in investigation, we were unable to reproduce the issues you have mentioned. We would appreciate if you could email us the details of the incidents at founders@tourapp.co, so that we can work together to best address the errors as soon as possible. As always, we thank you for your feedback and patience, The Tour team.

Need the ability to share itineraries

Tried to plan a bachelor party with this app but with out the ability to share with the boys defeats the point of creating an itinerary

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for letting us know. We are releasing Sharing within a day or so. We hope you will be able to fully enjoy Tour soon. Best wishes, The Tour Team.

Needs some work

I really wanted to love this app, but it isn’t very intuitive and is hard to use. I am trying to plan a trip to Japan with multiple destinations, and when I try to adjust the dates of one the rest of them get messed up! I also somehow got the destinations out of order and can’t figure out how to put them back. I also experienced loading screens that went on forever, it was the screen when I picked Japan as my destinations and it displayed an error message. I’m hoping these problems get fixed, because I really like the app otherwise.

Response from developer

Hi, Thank you so much for the feedback! I do apologize on my own behalf as the lead developer on the bugs and issues of the app, we’re working our best to fix all the bugs and better our usability as best as possible. There are lots of things that I am really dissatisfied with the app myself too. Thank you for mentioning about the date change that messes up the destinations issue, I’ve put it in our immediate list of things to fix, and will be improved in an update within a couple weeks or less. The trip creation error message you mentioned earlier also has just been fixed earlier today. If you can, it would be great if you tell us about the various issues and bugs that you’ve encountered or would like us to address at founders@tourapp.co Thank you so much. Jenn, Lead Developer & CTO.

Worst App Ever, So Inconvenienced

This app is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. It was incredibly glitchy, very inaccurate information, and in general just hard to use.
I don’t know who the makers of this app are, but you need to go back to the drawing board. I’d honestly rather use Google Maps as a tourist planning app than this, and we all know how Google Maps is not even good.
Also, the logo is a complete ripoff of the Tesla logo. Really shows lack of creativity. Just from seeing the logo I knew there wasn’t much hope.
Have a nice day.

Response from developer

Hi, I’m the sole developer of the app, and I completely understand where you are coming from, nothing gets me madder than a buggy software. I’m trying my best to clean everything up, but please understand that this takes time and work to do. completely apologize on my own behalf for all the problems encountered, I’m genuinely passionate to make Tour as amazing possible. It would be really great if you could email me directly (me@jennmueng.com) with all the problems, bugs, and glitches you encountered within the app. On the topic of being difficult to use, it’s because we’re using a whole new method of planning that’s not used anywhere else (drag-drop, sliding etc) which makes it difficult because you’re not used to using it. We’re addressing this issue by adding an onboarding/tutorial sequence in the coming update. After designing the logo, I’ve had lots of people mention to me that the logo looks like Tesla’s, which I think results from the pointy end of the “T”. Will definitely consider changing it if you think the resemblance degrades the quality and brand of the app. Thanks, Jenn, CTO & Lead Developer.

Awesome

Well the developers are my friends + this app kind of blew my mind. So I'll give it a five star. Probably add an instruction video at the very beginning? Actually took me a while to find the drag feature. Very impressive overall.
