Disappointed with Company and Owners
I had a very disappointing experience with TripCity. Before pickup, I notified the owner through the app that I was on my way and gave my ETA after receiving notice that my rental was ready. I received no response. When I arrived, I was almost turned away because I wasn’t told beforehand that I needed my physical driver’s license.
During my rental, the vehicle was remotely disabled after the owner believed it had been stolen. I was stranded at a gas station with my family, including two young children, until I was able to contact the owner and explain the misunderstanding.
After the rental, I still had the original key. Because of everything that had happened, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it in the disabled vehicle. I offered to return the key at a reasonable location, but was told I either had to make a two-hour trip to the owner’s shop or pay a $250 key replacement fee. I also contacted TripCity for help, but was told I needed to pay for shipping myself or return it to the shop.
I understand that rental platforms have policies, but I expected better communication, better support during a dispute, and more effort to find a reasonable solution. Based on my experience, I don’t feel confident using TripCity again.

Rented through mj auto car when I pulled off the lot car made a sound but didn’t think nothing of it weeks later the cv axle breaks on the car…wonder what will happen next I’ve contacted the owner now I must wait
SCAMMERSSSS!!!!!
I rented from them! The car had multiple mechanical issues that wasn’t listed. I extended my reservation and they cancelled it and turned off the vehicle and told me I had to wait for a refund to repay and have the vehicle turned back on. The customer service was horrible they told me “they weren’t arguing with me” and “they don’t bend their backs for people because they’re a private company not a big corporation” HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY SCAM ARTIST AND FRAUDULENT VEHICLES BEING LISTED AND RENTED OUT DO NOT RENT THROUGH THEM! I’ve forewarned you!!!
