Has Some Problems

The app works ok on an iPhone, but doesn’t work well on an iPad.

I really like the layout and the search format on the TrueCar app. The initial presentation of vehicle information is easy to navigate and read. Unfortunately, viewing images is limited to a scrolling “film strip”interface. There is no isolation of a single image and no zooming of an image to check details - which I would consider important on an app meant to sell things. I would be the first to say that CarGurus interface is going to be more cluttered, but images can be isolated and viewed one at a time.

There is no most annoying thing, there is no returning to your search once you select a vehicle to look at in detail on the iPad. I have tried many times to use the “return to search” link to have the app just sit there - for a long time, until I click on “new search” and start my search again. This only happened to me on the iPad app. Every competitor app I have used has this ability.

The app also lacks a mechanism to log into an account from the start on a new device. This is a problem with the website as well. You have to “Like” a car or save a search to be presented with a prompt to enter your email address then a confirming email is sent to you. Then your account is added. You are allowed to “Sign Out” once in.. it’s just strange there’s no option to “Sign In”. This is available on every competitor app I have used.

The app has a payment calculation section separate from the vehicle search where a person can input their desired payment, credit rating and trade in and the app will calculate the maximum price of the vehicle you should be looking for. It I only persists in this section and doesn’t show up in vehicle listings. CarGurus keeps this information persistent and easily editable through the vehicle browsing experience.

Lastly, there’s no page to report issues. I tried to report an issue through Apple’s App Store and just ended up at a “Page not Found” form.

Not functional

App opens, not functional.

Last update 6 months ago? Time to try other apps I guess.

Obsessed with forcing me to submit for quotes

This app used to allow you to just browse vehicles within a radius like an aggregate search. I’m using it for the first time in a few years and every step of the way they’re forcing “connecting” with a dealer down your throat trying to force you into contacting the seller to move forward. I don’t even know what I want yet! I’m just looking at what’s out there, christ.

Needs bug fixes

I’ve been in the market to buy a car and was told about it by Navyfed for the most it’s helpful but I feel like it needs minor maintenance or improvement on features. it’ll get stuck at times when I try to go back to the previous page of searches so I have to close the app.
Or I’ll go to a different section in the app and once I want to go back to my list of results it has me start all over which is annoying.

Cannot navigate on iPad

As others have mentioned, you cannot navigate between pages once you filtered your search results. There is a button to “go back”, but it does not respond. This app is great on an iPhone, but not on an iPad like so many apps.

Can’t save searches

Not sure what has happened with this app. I have t used in a while and now I don’t see where your can create an account or save searches, how can I do that?

Stopped working

It stopped working about a week ago - I am constantly getting this error: ‘ Sorry! We can't find that page. You might try going back or home.’

Scam

I tried this app when I was shopping for my new Toyota GH. Once I gave my info (email and phone) I start getting endless emails and phone calls, somehow my local dealer is not TrueCar certified dealer, but believe it or not, I’ve got a lot better deal from my local dealer and I’ve got exactly what I wanted. This app is real scam

Bring back market rate

Not as good now that it doesn’t show vehicle price to market anymore.

New car calls

This app used to be helpful, not anymore. Now if you try to search a new vehicle (like a specific model/trim/engine/etc.) you can NOT you just get some BS “locked in price” for some random vehicle that you’re not even interested in. What a stupid idea for TrueCar to make finding a new car impossible on this app

Useless

This is the worst car app I have. It is stupidly complicated to try and look for. Particular model. I deleted it.

Terrible App

Developers please fix this app. It’s slow, stalls, has repeated broken internal connections. The worst.

Recommended and data mining

This app has not provided any usable recommendations but is mining large amounts of data from my phone

UI Horrible, Shady Pricing

The title says it all. Try getting a lease price and the app and sends an all cash price and then makes 50 dealers call you. Horrible experience.

Not enough filters

This is the only app I have used that doesn’t have enough features to sort through a bunch of vehicles I don’t want. You need to add an engine size, type, and fuel type filter like all of your competitors.

Needs Work

After checking out a vehicle, when you return to the search results, the app takes you back to the top of the page. This forces you to scroll down to where you left off, which can be quite inconvenient. I decided to stop using the app because it clearly needs more work to fix things. Good luck.

Dealers Fake Prices

Too many dealers are listing falsely low prices and requiring shoppers to give their contact information before they can see the real price. Defeats the purpose of making car shopping easier.

I love their selection of cars

So many to choose

Why????

Why can’t I save my search???? Why???? What’s so hard about saving the search?????
Why do I have to search over and over again several times a day without saving it????

Buggy

The app is not good to use. I get crashed out of the app and the UI is awful. Please fix it.
