Customer Service and Experience

I think the overall experience with Tulu has been extremely positive. I think the concept is something that a lot of new constructions and older developments should adopt to provide 24-7 access to essentials and snacks and things that residents don't necessarily need every day that are costly, like Dyson vacuums and printers, et cetera.

The one thing I will say is that the individual snacks themselves can be a little bit pricey, which I don't necessarily agree with. I do also understand that this is a convenience-added layer and not an operating deli grocery front. Paying $2 for a 1-oz. bag of chips just sounds a little ridiculous. You can go to the corner store and that same bag might cost you $0.75, right? Again it's the business and the building working together and they both have to make money so I get it.

Also it's 24-7 access. There's nothing stopping me from going downstairs and grabbing some extra snacks when I want to. Although Tula offers a great customer service experience and they are super responsive no matter what time of day or what day of the week it is, the building itself needs to be very responsible and proactive when it comes to refilling.

troubling privacy concerns

this app goes through very intense identity verification for what it is. it requests government ID, selfies in front of machines, lease letters, and any legal name changes you may have had. I find this suspicious and concerning for what the product actually is. I understand verifying identity is important for keeping the units safe, but the biometrics and requests of multiple legal documents doesn’t sit right with me.

Innovative app!

I really luv it

Stupid

Won’t even let me set up an account. Support didn’t help either an absolute joke

Scam free trial

The free trial is not free. They will not refund you if u reach out the exact same day the trial ends under the guise of “you already used the service”. When stating I would go through my bank they claimed that was “against the terms of service”. Save yourself the trouble and $60 fee.

I need just a printer

I just need a printer in the middle of the night but it seems TULU finds it hard to find people to load paper in past few weeks.

What a shame.

CAREFUL!

I was a day or two late to cancel my subscription. And would not refund me the amount back. I would highly recommend to not sign up for an subscription. Not worth what the cost of it is and unfortunately couldn’t use it since I moved out of the building with this shortly after subscribing. Never have had an issue like this with any other subscription. BEWARE!!

Expensive and doesnt work

Horrible app with lots of bugs. I printed something and it cancelled the job which cost $50. App is buggy. Asked for a refund and was offered in app credits so I had to ask again for refund to original payment. Took a million steps to cancel the membership.

Disgusting items- Caught by auto renewal

Do not buy this. It looks good at first until you use the items. For example the vaccums I’ve used at multiple locations are absolutely disgusting, all years old and stained with mysterious substances, hair, etc. Everytime I used a vaccum it made the room way dirty with all the stuff falling out of the vaccum. Secondly the whole semester payment is a scam, getting you to buy 6 months when you realize in 1 month it sucks, and there’s no notification for the renewal by email or app. So if ur looking for a vaccum or any of these other products just buy a cheap one from Amazon- they are way cleaner and more convient.

Dumb scam

They advertise as “free” but really they make you buy a monthly or annual subscription THEN you can rent something. But even then only the first hour is free, you have to pay per hour anything longer than that. And you need the subscription to buy snacks too, for reference they’re charging almost $9 for a regular sized Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (at least in my building). Don’t even bother downloading

Useless

This app is a useless middle-man that can't address any issues, should they arise.

Hidden Cancelation

Hides how to cancel the subscription before autorenewal. When I told them I couldn’t find the cancellation option in the app, they said I needed to contact them and since I didn’t do that until a few hours later they won’t refund me.

Dumb

Whole thing is dumb and everything is gross lol

Review

The app does not work. It will not connect even though my data and WiFi are working.

-10/10 Onboarding

First time joining and using the App- onboarding is clumsy and absolutely backwards. Why I have to subscribe I don’t understand why I am paying you a fee on top of rental fees??? Makes no sense.
The verification process is clumsy- I had to go up and down from my flat because the UI is not thought through and you don’t wanna verify ID at sign up only when you are renting your first item.
The verification is done via chat… I mean what is this 2017?
Little clumsy things that have made the onboarding a horrible experience.
Once I am finished playing I will return the Xbox and delete this app.

Thank goodness for the free trial.

Sucks

Scam

I uninstalled this app and canceled my subscription 8 months ago and I had to get a new card because it constantly charged my card

Does not work or have option to report error

First of all, they make you sign up for a monthly or annual plan. How dumb is that - there's no option to just buy one item that you want. It's impossible. So I sign up with the intention to cancel, go to buy the item, and it makes a sound and declares that the door is unlocked -- but guess what, it isn't. Maybe the wrong door unlocked or something? But they literally do not offer and button or link to press to report that the door did not unlock, or that the wrong door unlocked. Like what? Isn't that the most obvious and foreseeable error here? All it did was notice that I never took the item (which no duh, of course I didn't, the door was locked), and yet the artificial non-intelligence could not seem to figure out why, or offer any way to report the issue. The company must not care about receiving reports of faulty machines or customer satisfaction. Building is One Park Point. Prove me wrong please.

Scam alert!

This app is basically a way for this company to get subscription revenue without delivering any value. The snackmachines aren’t stocked regularly and rental equipment is unavailable 99% of the time. So you’re paying $10 a month to use or consume nothing. Doordash is better :)
