Wildly limited behind subscription

Somehow the only app that displays F/C. For some reason the widget has a big “NEW!” Banner across it. Almost every function is behind an unrealistic paywall

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback Wes, and I'm sorry the app isn't working like you hoped it would. The banner goes away once you hit "new" in the app once. It only shows up for people who've been using the old version of the app and updated. The update was now about a year ago so I'm happy to hear you're now on the latest version! The reason we had to make some features paid is to keep the app alive. High quality weather data is expensive, and before adding paid features, the bills had already reached more than $200. So between shutting the app down to not go bankrupt, adding ads, or offering new features for a premium, I felt like this was the only option going forward. I understand not everyone would've gone this route, and ads might've worked too, but I personally really dislike ads so here we are. The premium features do have a free trial that you can use to see if it's worth it for you! If it's not for you and you decide to uninstall this app, I understand. Thanks for giving it a try! — Nick

Great for internationals!

Most of my coworkers are Canadian and I love that I can now just look at my lock screen in order to see what the temp is in Celsius. I always had to do a manual conversion and this is just so much faster !
The widget is free and there’s now paid features that some of the reviews here have been frustrated with. the widget I’ve been using for years still works great and is still free! Paid features are optional, I get that app devs have to make money somehow. Good way to support if you can <3

Paid only?

Recently the widget started showing up as blurred, and then the app itself shows a list of features and “$0.99/month” while the actual weather information is blurred out underneath. Super disappointing.

J, thank you so much for writing in! First I want to apologize for the late response here. App Store ratings are screened by Apple before they get published, so it takes me a few days to get back to feedback here. Usually the email contact in the app is the fastest way to reach out and get support. There are now additional paid features in the app, but the widget you used to have is still 100% free and available just as it was! If your widget is not loading, that's certainly a bug and I've dropped the ball here. I would love to be able to offer support over email, I'm positive we can get this fixed for you. We've been able to fix everyone's issues within 24 hours of writing in. Thank you for giving the app a try!

App crash

This app is still crashing when I try to open it !

Response from developer

Adam, thank you for bringing this to my attention! I'm sorry that it took a while for me to respond. The Apple review system takes a few days to screen new messages, so I couldn't get to this immediately. Usually the fastest way to get support is through the contact button in the settings screen or via emailing unit-weather@spreen.co I did indeed see your crash in the dashboard and have just published a version that fixes this issue. Please give 2.2.6 a try and reach out if you have further issues. Apologies for dropping the ball and providing a subpar experience! — Nick

Application not working

Once installed, the application is not letting you open the settings menu and later it completely blocks itself and crashes unallowing the user even to go in the app itself and now no matters if you downloaded again, app is not openning. I paid the annual subscription and was expecting to receive more support.

Hey Oscar, Thanks so much for reaching out! Email support is usually much quicker than writing a review here because reviews only go live after about 48h of Apple screening them. It sounds like I definitely dropped the ball here, I don't think I understand the issues you're experiencing fully, but if you're able to provide some context over email I'll be happy to try my best and resolve these issues for you! Anytime someone's written in with any bugs we were able to resolve them within 24h and I'm positive we'll get you right back up and running! The email is unit-weather@spreen.co Thank you for giving the app a try, — Nick

Very useful for those who want to see temperatures in both F and C

I recently shifted to the US and was new to F temperatures. This app solved my problem by simultaneously showing F and C temperatures. I also use its locked screen widget which is very useful widget to look at min-max and current temps at a glance.

App crash

This app just started crashing when I tried to open it !

Used to work great, since the update it is stuck on some random location

The concept of this widget was exactly what I wanted. However since the recent update it no longer shows the correct temperature, despite the location setting. It seems stuck on forever being 22c/72f.

Thousands of users have updated without issue so there seems to be something peculiar happening on your device. Let's get it sorted :)

useful Update

just updated. I think there are a lot of new useful features in the paid plan and im still geting the same free functionality that i’ve been using for a year. thanks for making a useful app & maintaining the free user base!

Almost perfect

I wish I had the ability to display Celsius first before Fahrenheit, reverse order. The widget and app show Fahrenheit first, Celsius second and the lock screen high and low are Fahrenheit only. I wish I could have Celsius first, Fahrenheit second and the high and low in Celsius. If this was implemented, the app would be perfect.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It’s a great idea, in Version 2.2.3 you can now select the order of the two units in the theme settings! If you have further feature requests or questions please reach out to unit-weather@spreen.co I’m always looking to improve the app

F und C Wetter

Sehr hilfreich und leicht zu bedienen

Sehr praktisch

Eine überdurchschnittliche und hilfreiche App

Good App & Very Good Suppprt

Happy with the app & widget, and most happy with the support & follow-up regarding an issue I had. The response was timely and most helpful! Highly recommended.

Great app. Widgets don’t work

I love being able to quickly check the difference between f and c now that I’ve moved from the UK to USA. However, the widgets don’t work for me. I just end up with coloured square on my iPhone with no weather information at all. It’s really disappointing as I’d love that feature. Presumably it has something to do with the fact my apps have an iPhone filter on them so they’re all the same hue on my screen, but I’m not willing to change them for this app.

Thank you so much for the feedback! After lots of testing on different devices and operating systems, I found a rare issue in iOS 18 for users with a tinted Home Screen. This issue was just resolved in Version 2.2.3. Please try updating to that version, the issue should be gone! If you have further feature requests or questions please reach out to unit-weather@spreen.co I’m always looking to improve the app

Very useful update

I'm an American married to a European. No more converting or guessing, I love it. The new optional dual unit forecasts are well worth the price (the free version is unchanged, so still great). Plus, excellent and fast support from the developer.

Quick response and does what I need it to

I recently had an issue where the light version of the app had been taken out. The dev was quick to respond to an email and added a light mode again!

Highly recommend this app, I’ve used it close to 3 years and it works great.

Currently unusable

This WAS a neat little widget for checking the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius at once. The new look puts a big NEW banner over the temperature display in the app’s widget so that you can’t actually read the temperatures. That’s the entire function of the app, knocked out by a cosmetic downgrade. I guess you could upgrade to a paid tier to pick one of the new widget looks that’s actually usable, but why pay to restore basic utility?

srie3, Thanks so much for taking the time to write us feedback! The NEW badge disappears after pressing it once. It does take a max of 15min before the widget refreshes (unfortunately Apple doesn't allow manual widget updates) but clearly I didn't do a good job communicating that the badge isn't there forever. I've taken your feedback and made the badge much smaller in 2.2.2 There will be some additional improvements soon in 2.2.3 to hopefully make the badge even less intrusive! Unfortunately, 95% of users never open the app and only use the widget, so I've been trying to find a good balance of showcasing the new features and making existing users aware that there are new things in the app. But clearly, I didn't strike the right balance here and dropped the ball. I apologize for that! — Nick

Plötzlich kostenpflichtig

Achtung!

Response from developer

— Yannick

Fahrenheit = Freedom

Endlich kann ich auf meiner Ranch mitreden wenn die Cowboys die Klimaanlage umstellen

No more temperature unit confusion!

The widget is so easy and intuitive to use! I can now finally make sense of what temperature it is when my weird European friends say something like "Oh it's a nippy 9 C today, Ill have to slip into my trusty tweed jacket, tally ho! (9 C is around 48 degrees in freedom units, putting it solidly into hoodie weather. Unfortunately the widget was unable to tell me what a tweed jacket is, still confused on that)
