About

American history from before contact to the present, including the parts that get left out. Unredacted is a four-year American history curriculum: 100 lessons from Native North America before 1492 to the drone war, taught in the order a two-semester survey teaches it. It is a complete course, and it does not skip the crimes. Indian removal and the California genocide. The Middle Passage and the domestic slave trade. Lynching, the Wilmington coup of 1898, Tulsa. Forced sterilization, Japanese American incarceration, Tuskegee, MKUltra, COINTELPRO. The coups in Iran, Guatemala and Chile. The Phoenix Program, My Lai, Operation Condor, the Contras, the School of the Americas. Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. All of it taught as history rather than as a footnote to it. WHAT IS INSIDE 100 lessons across four years, each 15 to 25 minutes, with on-device narration 60 profiles: presidents, organisers, generals, enslaved people who left records, and the officials who signed the orders 741 glossary terms, cross-linked to the lessons that use them 20 quizzes with worked explanations for every answer 18 documented episodes, each one listing the record it rests on Spaced repetition that schedules the terms you keep forgetting Bookmarks and notes on any lesson, profile or term Three Home Screen widgets: a quote, a term and a figure, each changing daily HOW IT TEACHES The standard is documentation. Every episode here is one the record establishes, and each Case File lists what it rests on: the Church Committee reports, declassified FRUS volumes, the National Security Archive, court records, congressional testimony. Where historians still disagree, the lesson says so and gives the competing readings. Where a familiar story turns out to be wrong, the lesson corrects it, including when the correction is inconvenient. A sourced account is harder to dismiss than an angry one. That is the whole editorial method. FREE AND PAID The first ten lessons are free. One purchase of $9.99 unlocks the remaining 90 and everything else, permanently. There is no subscription, there are no ads, and there is no account to create. Family Sharing is supported. OFFLINE BY DESIGN The app makes no network connections. Every lesson, profile, glossary entry, quiz and case study is bundled in the download, so the whole course works in airplane mode. Nothing you read or write here leaves your device.
