Can’t believe that Apple would allow an app on the app store that forces you to install a zip 2 work
Response from developer
App is not forcing anything, please don’t spread misinformation. App Store apps cannot shut down macOS, so an external tool is needed (as always; now there is a management app to streamline the installation process). It is optional and is not needed for the app to run in order to monitor UPS devices. Power Server scripts are open source for full transparency and you can install them manually if you don’t want to use helper app. Detailed instructions are available on our support page.

Works great with NUT Server setup!
Response from developer
Hello, As I wrote in the e-mail, UPS Power Monitor does not display any window by default, but it adds an additional icon on the Mac's menu bar displayed on the top of the screen. After clicking it should display app’s window. Please let us know if the icon is not visible on the menu bar and we will do our best to help. Kind regards

Shutting down system
Response from developer
Hello, yes, this is possible. Please visit our support page for a detailed instructions about how to setup Power Guard feature and shut down the Mac automatically. In case of any questions please contact us via our support email.
Very Happy - One Small Bug
The bug i just noticed is that when the UPS is at 99%, it sometimes alternates between a charging state (trickle charge) and not charging. When ever the state of the UPS changes, it fires a notification on the mac. Which means that you get a constant barage of notifications saying the UPS is charging. There should be a threshold that the user can set that makes the app only show one notification if the charge level is in the range of a defined percentage and above. Dev please fix this and your app will be perfect. Well Done!

Works great with my QNAP NAS
I'm assuming, or rather hoping, that eventually there will be more Power Guard options besides 20% capacity remaining. My QNAP NAS has shutdown options based only on "time remaining" so it's hard to know how to set things up to ensure my Mac gets the shutdown signal before the NAS shuts itself down.
For those with a QNAP, for "UPS Name" when setting up, use "qnapups". For some reason this is undocumented by QNAP. A quick DDG search found the solution. (Thanks snbforums.com!)

Hello, thank you very much for the review. In the next update there will be added an option which allow the user to set the battery charging percentage after which the shutdown will occur. Best regards

Works as Advertised
This software properlly shut down my iMac using commands from my NAS. It then monitored battery status, letting me know battery capacity with a cute battery indicator in the Menu Bar. Tech support answered in a couple of hours. Excellent.

Much Appreciated app!
Two stars off because it doesn't work on Mojave. First time coming across a 3rd party app that REQUIRES 10.15.x or later. So I can only use this on my new 16in MBP. I also have an iMac, older MBP, and an older MacMIni that must remain on Mojave due to critical 32bit apps I use. Since Mojave can run 64bit apps perfectly well, I do not understand why this app forces itself to only work under Catalina or later. Developer should probably issue something in the description that notes the reasons why 10.15 or later is required.

Hello. Thank you for using the app, we are very happy that it is working for you without issues. The Mac app requires macOS Catalina and its iOS counterpart works from iOS 13 because we are using technologies which unfortunately are not available on earlier versions. Those frameworks also allow us to keep the low prices of both apps which is important for such specific applications with rather limited audience. The Mac app was never compatible with older system versions, we are not promising that in the description and the required OS version can be found on the application's page in the Mac App Store.
