Subscription still charged
heyyy to whoever ends up reading this. i hope you’ve eaten something so you’re not cranky. anyways, i canceled my subsection 2 days ago which would’ve been august 4, and i think the billing cycle reset on the 2nd of every month depending on when you buy. my card this morning was charged $27, im a bit short on funds and i need those $27 for gas. 💀 i get it, $27 is chump change, is there anything that can be done about this? i’d just like some confirmation or direction or response from a person and not a FAQ.

Good luck if you have any issue. Pay to play, then 30 days later you figure out you waste your time, too late to find out there’s no one to support you.
Keeps showing error
It’s frustrating me now. My chatrooms fail to load, my contracts, invitations, proposals, alerts nothing are loading up. It keeps showing error.
PAY TO PLAY
You are required to spend at least FIFTEEN DOLLARS to buy “connects” to even APPLY. So, if I bought the $15 connects and applied to 100 jobs and got rejected for all of them (hypothetically) I wouldn’t have made any money, I would have lost $15 (pretty steep imo)

22hrs+ waiting. They have the gall to say it's resolved without any action.
The customer service response time is horrendous. 3 Days of back-and-forth with huge delays of up to 22 hours without any resolution, and then they have the gall to state the action was resolved. Their team has delayed multiple projects, causing massive frustration on both ends. If you want a freelance service without you and your clients having a massive headache, do not go for this company.

Does not work
Would be one star except the push notifications work for some reason but nothing else in the app does. Inevitably after a few days max I get kicked back to the login screen and every time I log in I just get kicked back to the login screen again. Mildly infuriating

If you like having to re-log into an account every single time you open it Upwork is for you
The app logged you out every single time you don’t use it for a few hours. If someone responds in your messages, you can see the message, but when you go to respond to them, you have to re-login. A complete utter waste of time.

Embarrassing technical state
Consistently one of the poorest-functioning professional apps out there. I’m a client of many years, having spent six figures on the platform. I get signed out of the app every single time I use it. Google auth works only like 50% of the time. Then I’m automatically logged into a freelancer account I’d never used or asked for. Chat across desktop and mobile app is rarely in sync. The responsiveness of the app I’d rather not even talk about. Truly embarrassing, to the point where I’m actively looking to move off the platform.

Devoid of Ethics. Would give 0 stars if I could. 🚩
Attempted to find some freelance opportunities. Filtering was abysmal. Daily random job posts listed. Reported a many inappropriate and unethical job posts (including but not limited to: helping create adult literature that the authors said would be containing sexual conduct and crass humor, violence to animals and children). Response to my reports was "We appreciate your report. However, we don't find it currently violates our rules and ethics." Do with that info what you will.

I’m constantly being signed out every 1-2 days on both mobile and desktop FOR MONTHS. Upwork’s engineering team should be embarrassed because this is lowly work. I’m looking for alternative platforms and I’m in the process of moving my relationship with the freelancers off this god forsaken buggy app
