Teacher good; App not so good
My Spanish teacher is excellent. But the app is hard to navigate. The icons are not intuitive, and the menu names are less than helpful. The interface appears to be from a previous millennium. You can spend a lot of time trying to schedule a new lesson.
And it is not immediately obvious which time zone you are scheduling, which is a big problem if you travel.
The audio quality makes learning a new language very difficult, although to be fair it might be in part due to my teacher’s microphone.

Great learning experience, app improvements needed
1) Landscape iPad support
2) Video chat background support, blur at least
3) More organized UI. Instructor overlay, presentation mode and chat are not well integrated. Look at Teams, or Zoom for UI inspiration.

App has not been updated, too many issues
I have been experiencing so many issues with the app, after buying lessons worth over €200. Many times the videos cut out for no reason, the worksheets don’t appear or cause the app the crash if the teacher tries to open them, teachers calendars don’t appear for me to book classes. Most teachers will ask you to meet them over zoom instead or google meets. The teacher I had paid classes for stopped using Verbling after I paid for classes, but Verbling do not give refunds. Now I have a lot of money in credits that’s I just can’t use. The customer service agent told me they are purposely not updating the app and I need to use the desktop version, which is not an option for me at the moment. So you sign up to classes here, get ready for all the issues that come with an out of date. Also I should mention, the desktop version is not any better, this platform as a whole is riddled with issues

Crashes on Opening Every Time
Useless. Literally. Can’t even open before crashing. I have since tried it on a new iPhone and new iOS version. It still soils itself every time I try to open the app. Hasn’t been updated in three years. Their competitors do better. Check them out first.
Website is better than the app
The app has issues and won’t access my account with repeated error while the website works fine.
Nice platform, awful app
It’s really not good. I don’t have time to listen all the UX failures here but one major one is that there are censored words (e.g. “WhatsApp”!) that the user is not informed of in any way, and if you have them in your message, the entire thing simply vanishes with no way to recover it as soon as you press send. Hilariously big oversight and just one example of many.

He intentado entrar en la aplicación de múltiples maneras. Es totalmente imposible. No tiene botones. Hay un texto donde aparece entrar con Google, entrar con Apple, etc. Es de todo imposible llegar a pulsar esas opciones. A partir de ahí como comprenderá, no puedo hacer nada más con ella. incluso la página web es muy complicada de manejar. Pediría que la modificara lo antes posible.

Plenty of cancellations. Non refundable money. Low qualified teachers. My problems now are how to take my money back🙈

Solid platform, awful app with questionable practices
I really appreciate Verbling as a platform but this app is not good unfortunately. Additionally, it auto-deletes messages that contain certain words (like WhatsApp), which feels like a massive breach of privacy. I do not recommend sending any personal info over their messaging platform.
App isn’t supported anymore
Use the website. I contacted support about some missing app feature and they responded telling me that the app is no longer supported. I’m not sure why they haven’t removed it from the App Store.
