What's New in ViewRanger

10.5.15

October 6, 2022

This update includes a small fix to continue supporting the transfer of your account to Outdooractive. Goodbye from us. We have now switched off access to the ViewRanger app. Thank you to the global community of ViewRanger users who helped make our adventures so much fun. We recommend you download and use the Outdooractive app instead of ViewRanger. We offer you an easy way to move to the Outdooractive app - where you can continue to access your maps, tracks, routes, POIs, and other ViewRanger app data. Search for "Outdooractive" and download the app for free. We'll see you in the Outdooractive community.

Dissappointed

Outdooractive is nothing like this app. This was the only app that will save offline maps, display your position, and allow MGRS over the cursor. Extremely dissapointed. Since my app isnt updated I can still use the app with my downloaded maps but the live map will no longer load tiles so i cant use it at any new locations…

Sorry to see ViewRanger ending

ViewRanger has been my go to for hiking and horse riding for several years. It is neat, clean, easy to use, with several map bases available (OpenCycle is the one that suits my needs best).

The change to Outdooractive is unhappy making. Outdooractive is fussy, has a bloat of “features” I don’t need or want, and a useless, for my needs, set of maps.

From the Heaven

I discovered ViewRanger 8 years ago. As a botanist and a nature adventure View Ranger is a womderfulll App. I advice you to use it.
Easy to use with many good option to track your field work and yout outdoor activities. Congrats to the team of VR from Yamousspukro (Côte d’Ivoire)

Best out there for hiking

Stunningly detailed maps and the most accurate and easy to use gps system I’ve used. Better for tracking your own trails than finding existing ones.

New to me

Purchased this app years ago but only started trying to use it lately. I was using a different trail app that has since gone out of business.
My problem with the app (used twice so far) is that it starts and stops recording a track whenever it feels like it. We’ll get done doing a 5 mile ride on the trails and when we get back the app says we rode 200 yards for 2 minutes or something similar.
I admit it may be user error for now because I just began using it. But you keep asking for a review so here it is.
