What are you talking about?

It would be very nice as actually it should be part of Volvo service to explain what these things are that we have a choice to add or not. It seems like all Volvo is interested in is to sell you a car and get you out of the showroom. But not explain anything about the car that’s ridiculous. as much as I like the car, this will be my last Volvo.

Too many bugs

Rarely connnects to car. Sick of the message “climate starting” and then nothing happens

$200 for What??

My free version ended and now it’s time to pay $200 for the year. The only feature I was getting was start/stop and locking. I see others have climate and window functionality. Where was that on my app??

Getting much better

When we first got our EX90 in February we were excited and then disappointed with the app. It was very unreliable in most of its connection factors ie unlocking, status , climate control start etc.
its now a lot better. A lot more responsive but still glitches a bit more than it should so that’s why I give it 4.

Poor app, and even poorer customer service

App lacks functionality offered by many other car makers, has huge latency and frequent bugs. Customer service is nonexistent, hardly what you would expect from a “Luxury Car” market, when the economy cars provide far superior service & communication. Subscription is very expensive, and the lack of access to customer service is surprising given the cost. Subscription renewal process is broken and lacks communication/transparency. After you pay, it still indicates the subscription needs to be renewed, not that its in process. The instant confirmation does not communicate any delays. But when you return to the app it says you need to renew and hangs. Hours later you can hunt down a website to log into and see its processing, but no information on what that means, or how long that will take. Good luck getting ahold of any customer service person (chat or phone) and when you finally do they are not equipped to do anything, they can’t even collect feedback/escalate a comment. Save yourself the headache, buy a BMW!

Locking/Unlocking

I recently decided to have this car through Motability for its safety feature’s, however on a late evening trip to a beach with 2 disabled children it was a disaster. I deceived to leave house key and car key inside car due to being hands on with children. I checked internet coverage and full battery . I locked, unlocked car on arrival and locked when leaving the car. When returning later the car would not open….. stuck outside for nearly 90 minutes. There was service I made calls for assistance and reset opening was sent to the car from assistance. The only option was to have car recovered to a different area to receive message. Absolutely terrible. I would not recommend at all !!!!

Smart Charging broke on update?

I’ve just realised that, at about the same time as the app was last updated, the “Departure at” time was removed, meaning that Smart Charging (through OVO) stopped working, and I’ve been charged full price for charges since then. I’m not 100% convinced, but as I haven’t changed this setting in quite a long time I suspect that it was reset by the update. I’d appreciate dev feedback on this…

Other than that, I like the app, and find most of it pretty intuitive.

The best automobile

Looks like a draft

I find the application looks like an unfinished draft. Don’t get me wrong, I like minimalistic designs, but this is too much. The image of the car when stopped is a doodle style drawing. I liked the realistic image that was used before. The menus and buttons look so large. Did you test on devices with larger fonts enabled? I have larger fonts enabled, and it looks so large on my device! It’s almost unbearable. Please do something about it and make it look polished like it was before. I am not enjoying this update and would gladly revert to the previous version.

So expensive

$200, $300 for this app when we’ve already paid $50k+ for the car itself? While I’ve gotten some valuable use from the app, the benefits of it were never worth the cost, so once the free three years was up, I just stopped using it altogether. It honestly shouldn’t cost drivers anything, but make it $50/year and at least at that point it’s not laughable.

Inadequate basic functions don’t work reliably, have you even tested this?

When putting in my company name, it correctly showed our company address in the app but proposed route was from a previous address, a very weird issue. Showed our post code in wrong location! Also data about car state, such as locked, windows open etc is frequently outdated, the notifications do a bad job of keeping app in sync. Does not start charging sometimes if arrive during the charging hours instead of before them. Pretty pathetic like many connected car apps.

Works great even on older Sensus cars

Works great on my 2018 XC60 T6 R-Design, remote start is so useful, as well as other features like trips which let you price out your gas. Status menu is also great for if you forget to lock your car, or need to remotely unlock it for someone else. App does sign you out sometimes which can be a bit irritating but not difficult to sign in again.

If I could make any changes it would be to add more IOS Widget options other than the range one, maybe a larger widget with an image of the car, like other competitors apps have.

Remote Window Function

An option to remotely roll up or roll down windows would be really helpful. I use that a lot for my Tesla

Re-register car AGAIN?

Every time I go to use this app, I have to log in again and then re-register my car. Useless.

Big Dave

Would love to even give this app a try but it doesn’t even load up and crashes as soon as I try entering my cars Vin number. I’ve tried everything to get it to work but no luck. Very frustrating/disappointing

Road trip Windsor Ontario to Halifax NS.

Great 3 day trip. 38-40 imperial mpg , comfortable ride. I drive like I have an egg between my foot a the gas pedal.

Missing basic features

The app should be so much better, and include super helpful features such as allowing to change the climate temperature remotely (like Tesla, BYD, etc) for preconditioning.

But what have Volvo devs been working on? Playing around with massive fonts no one asked for and adding pointless junk like the gallery 🤷‍♂️

As a suggestion Volvo, maybe liaise and listen to your user base and as a minimum implement capabilities and features that your competitors offer.

Ideal Car App

First time Volvo owner and therefore first time Volvo app user. I find this app very user friendly and helpful. Design of app is simplistic but well designed with relevant functions and attention to detail. Very minor but a cool little detail is adding an image of the exact trim model of your even down to wheel design. I love that!

Love it

Works almost always and when it doesn’t I just restart my phone 😄

Seriously?

7.1 had broken trip logging. The save option for describing the trip is gone. C’mon folks.

We pay $80k for a vehicle and then have to pay $200+ per year for remote start. Map only allows search for charging stations. Trip tracking long ago removed the great feature of seeing where your car has been. At least the development team knows how to send out the nag notifications that it’s time to renew again to continue to have access to all the great features.

Latest update boggles the mind. Every release removes functionality from trip tracking. Previous release extended data retention but this deleted all history without warning. It’s more difficult now to tell which trips we’ve updated. Tagging is convoluted.
