VOSC Visual Particle Synth User Reviews

Harmonics

When tuning the four visual oscillators I sometimes find a sweet spot. It’s as though I’ve come along a visual harmonic especially when using lower LFO speeds. A great audio analogy is a polyrhythm. Would love be able to set numerically specific frequencies/parameters. Brilliant work and thank you.
*When possible increase the number of patch slots and it would be super if you could provide a share button so we can open up the exact same patch on another device.

Incredible visuals!

I’m very surprised that there are no reviews of this yet… This app is phenomenal. It’s got some amazingly trance-inducing capabilities. Very configurable; one can start from scratch, develop personalized patterns, and there are incredible presets that can be modified according to taste. Foreground and background colors can be changed. Dot density and shape can be changed. Getting screenshots of the patterning is a great thing to do, because you can add the resulting video as layers in something like LumaFusion, After Effects, Imaginando VS, etc. Very highly recommended!

No visual export

It’s a great idea and fun to play around with. The newer version adds improvements but there is still no way of exporting static images, let alone video. This makes it just a toy rather than a useful tool for creative tool.

Amazing, want more!

This is great! I’d love it if it were modular, you could make one thing affect another.

Inexpensive, but also kinda underwhelming… Plus it forces screen orientation in a weird way…

Not bad… Needs waaay more options. Like the ability for the particles to fade color based on stuff like age, distance etc so it’s not so monochromatic.
Also seems to be a bug in that it forces the screen to be held one way. I.e. it doesn’t rotate.
For the price it’s not bad, but I’d pay more for more…

Stunning

I love this app because aside from the Vasulkas, Whitney is a hero of mine, and this just makes waveforms that much more of an exciting moving medium for art. That said, eagerly awaiting desktop and wonder if you are building in a midi control capability to live create, and adding the effects and other features like an xyz axis flexibility? ..an amazing original app with amazing recent improvements. Thanks!!!!

beautiful, but ..

Of ALL the apps i own of this variety (EVERY ONE REALLY) this one stands out above the rest. its beautiful, organic, leaves a lot of room for personal tweaking, so on and so forth. i spend an significant time with it, and i deem it time well spent. My only issue is that it only runs on my phone, my pads will show the opening screen then blank out into nothing. yes my pads r recent enough and up to date. i was really hoping to contact the developer directly and skip this route altogether, but i don’t see a way, despite him having a nice enough website theres no method of contact. Can u pls look into this, i want the magic Large, not contained just on my phone screen. THX THX THX 🙏

Can’t work on my iPad mini ( iOS 12.5.7 )

Can’t work on my iPad mini ( iOS 12.5.7 )
After the splash screen, the screen remains dark.
Please help me...

Nothing on startup

App doesn’t appear to launch. I see the VOSC banner then nothing. Running up to date I pad pro.

black screen after update

not working after updating to version 2. iPhone 6s+, OS 13.1. how can I downgrade to a previos version? I bought it, and it was cool.

Doesn‘t work

I would love to play around with your app but it doesn‘t work on my devices (iPhone SE iOS 15.7.5, iPad mini 2 iOS 12.5.7). When I open the app it shows the logo and turns the screen black and nothing else happens. Please fix it or change the minimum iOS so people with legacy devices won’t buy a non-functioning app.

Interesting app but needs work to make it great

This app is interesting with top notch graphics, but not having video capture reduces it’s usefulness greatly , now if the dev could add a way for the app to respond to audio or midi , it would make this a must buy for anyone looking to make synthetic images for video

The new update is gorgeous.

Completely surprised by the new update. Not a completely new experience but it feels so much richer now. The visuals are cleaner and easier to see with customizable particle colors and background colors. Thank you so much for changing how the presets worked xD. Now we can see previews of the presets and clearly select ‘Read’ or ‘Write’. The interface flows better now and feels even easier to dive in and create mesmerizing visuals. Thanks again for this awesome update.

Just updated in vain

return random function, it was better than now

I’d happily pay more for AUv3 audio reactivity

I don’t know if its possible but id happily buy a visual synth like that with some midi and audio reactivity through auv3

Looks incredible

Really impressed by what I can do with this but I can’t figure out how to use the capture feature. It’s truly disappointing if someone wants to tell me how to do it successfully I’m all ears.

Amazing but why didn’t the share screen/capture button do anything?

Would love to use this as supplements to my art but screen recording from the iPhone looks bad quality, and when I click the button nothing happens

Sehr gut!

Music for the eyes

I know my way around my Moogs and semi-modular synth gear, so it was intriguing to find this, and a real surprise to find how well it works! Like sound, interesting things can happen when you have multiple oscillators producing waves which modulate each other.

And like analog synths, this app uses science to produce art: I have wandered through bubbling lightscapes which, with a slight change in a parameter or two morph into impossible wireframe models, or blazing psychedelic plasma.

There is huge potential to follow synth architecture: choosing which oscillator modulates which would be interesting. So would the ability to limit frequencies to a harmonious intervals - like all sliders on the touch screen, it is hard not to have the value jump when your finger leaves the screen.

If the developers were feeling really brave, having the oscillators and modulators respond to MIDI would be glorious, as the visuals could then be linked to music apps, hardware synths, and you’d have a professional visualisation tool.

Video capture would have also made this a 5 star app.
