Fantastic but unreliable app

Fantastic resource but let down by an app that too often doesn’t work. Pages don’t load, maps don’t open, resources not available. The fix seems to be to regularly delete the app and reinstall a fresh download. Why is there no update facility or notification to reload? Several times I’ve arrived in the wild to do my walk and had no access to the app’s features. Strange that this limitation exists.
When it does work, it’s fantastic. Great tool.

Sorry to hear -it sounds like you are not downloading routes before heading out, you need to do this so they work offline. New version next week will include tutorials. Email me on app-support@walkhighlands.co.uk and I’ll help with your problems.

Don’t go without it

Would be nice to zoom in a little further. Otherwise such a fantastic app. Made my trip to Scotland!

Really glad you like the app- thanks for the review! Our maps are detailed topographic raster maps - not simple vectors like some apps that just make the features bigger as you zoom. So whilst we could make a higher zoom, with raster maps it would increase the amount of download you would need by a factor of 4. So there is a balance for us to weigh up for the future. The current maps are 1:17500 which is a larger scale than paper.
