This app is amazing. It helped us make a recent trip to Scotland something really special. Without this app, we would have certainly gotten lost on a few trails. It also helped us find some great walks nearby when we were looking to fill some time. Great map even for trails that aren’t “official” walks. Cannot say enough good about it.

Never get lost ever again
The maps are wonderful to show you exactly where you are each time you press the triangular symbol. Download the maps need for next day then feel secure of always knowing exactly where you are. This provides a potentially life saving public service

I’ve never reviewed an app before but the Walk Highlands deserves it. Walk Highlands has been first port of call for me since the website launched some 15 or years ago. An app just makes it easier on today’s technology.
I use the app almost daily and the amount of information and the level of detail is pretty much perfection 😊

So so good
I love this app, and all of the free routes it provides. It’s such a valuable resource for the casual walker, munroist and long distance walker. Even for a leg stretcher on a long journey. If only other countries had this up to date app!

Anyone who has used walkhighlands before will feel instantly at home in the new app. Very useful!

Brilliant app, and a great upgrade on the first effort. The GPS works seamlessly for anywhere now (even away from the downloaded routes), loading is quicker and they’ve even fixed the homepage so you don’t have to scroll down to load the map mid-walk. How is this app (and site) still free and still being improved, when every other corner of the internet is being turned to sludge? Being independently owned / run by one couple is probably a big part of the success.
