iOS lock screen widgets are now available, giving you a quick update on conditions without needing to unlock your phone. Two sizes are available showing current conditions and today's forecast. You can edit the location and data options to suit your needs. We’ve also made minor updates to the home screen widgets, making better use of the space to include maximum wind conditions for the day or hour. The rain bars have also been updated to indicate rain amounts rather than chance of any rain. This means that a “high chance of negligible rain” won’t visually overstate the impact for the day. Let us know about your experience. Your feedback will help to shape future widget updates.

Legacy version was better

I’ve upgraded from an iPhone XS to 17 Pro, and have realised the old Weatherzone+ is no longer supported on newer iOS versions. In addition, the paid version is subscription, and is no longer a one-time payment.

The new layout requires more scrolling. Even with ads removed it’s not as clean an experience.

It’s clear that the UX design intentionally prioritises a sub-par experience to incentivise users to subscribe.
If the UI was actually improved, this could be a defendable decision.

It’s an unfortunate disappointment. Maybe things might shift back to a user-first experience…
But for now, I’d recommend looking elsewhere
