App DOES NOT WORK
No stars or less is the rating this app deserves. Have tried to enter travel information (date of trip and leaving from) to claim VAT Refund for over two weeks and continue to get Error Occurred Message - Try again or contact WeVat. I have reached out twice and no response. I am now back home in the US from my Paris trip and still trying to find out if I can get the VAT Refund. The HELP function does not work. No Chat function either. Is this a scam? So now I have lost out on getting the refund?

Error on the first screen
I downloaded the app and tried to sign up with filling the first screen that came up. All I get is an error message every time.

Submitted my tax refund in August, and to this day, still no refund. No updates, no response from customer support—completely unreachable. It’s clear they’ve taken the money and disappeared. Do not use this app! 🚫

Not working
I’ve been trying to make the app work for more than two weeks and messaged the support and emailed multiple times. Unfortunately I am receiving no help. I would recommend using another app.

Tried to use this app but it is not accepting travel dates. I contacted them and got this response:

Definitely not hassle-free. I am so irritated with this process. It took over an hour for Printemps to print an invoice to vatcat, they were very hesitant to do this and said they needed something like a purchase order, and when they finally did they printed it on two pages on both sides of the same sheet and I cannot get them side by side. I need to rush to dinner now and have wasted two hours on this. Why can’t your app do this. I’m trying to download a third party app to merge the photos but the roaming data is so slow. Next time I am going back to the traditional process. The extra time doing this is not worth it.

Wish I would have checked for alternatives...
Read about this app online and didn't realise there were plenty of similar alternatives. The app is quite buggy, e.g. it showed me an incorrect refund amount (based on the lower "express refund") percentage. Instructions on the website are also unclear, e.g. the website mentions that online shopping receipts should be forwarded when according to support they still need to be uploaded in the app. This would all be fine but unfortunately the support is very slow and arrogant - it took a day and 3 follow-ups from my side before they confirmed that the app is showing incorrect refund amounts, after initially assuming I misunderstood the refund percentages. Going forward I will be trying alternative apps (e.g. skiptax or zapptax), which seem to offer much faster refund timeline and lower fees.
