@Hfyugdujvf, that is exactly what is supposed to happen: the entire database of wheels is sorted so the one most visually similar to your picture is the top of the list. To see this in action, you may view the videos on www.WheelSpotter.com or you may use for free during the 3-day free trial offer period.

DEVELOPER RESPONSE #4 Jake6923, if you tap the ABOUT button for your support question, it will be faster for you to receive this answer: tap the user silhouette icon then tap DOWNLOAD DATA NOW under NEW DATA AVAILABLE. DEVELOPER RESPONSE #3 Jake6923, if you tap the ABOUT button for your support question, it will be faster for you to receive this answer: select GENERAL MOTORS EXPRESS 2500 VAN or GENERAL MOTORS SILVERADO 2500 PICKUP. DEVELOPER RESPONSE #2 Jake6923, thank you for the opportunity to address your additional questions. When you chose to start your workflow by taking a photograph of the wheel you wish to identify, the WheelSpotter App visually sorts all 15,000+ wheels in the Hollander Interchange. If your wheel is not in the results, then it is not in the Hollander Interchange or greater than 20 years old. The threshold for EXPENSIVE is user-configurable. Tap MARKET PRICE on the main screen to navigate to the screen where you can see and select the threshold value for what is EXPENSIVE. On any Interchange Number screen, tap SEARCH THE WEB for the latest price of that wheel. When you edit your review (e.g., replacing your original questions with these new questions), the date of your review is automatically updated by the App Store. Regarding your request for new features to be added to the app, these will be taken into consideration, thank you. Our goal is for the app to have the features most demanded by subscribers. And, as always, every subscriber to the WheelSpotter App is offered a three-day free trial so each can evaluate the app and its features before purchasing. DEVELOPER RESPONSE #1 Jake6923, thank you for questions and the opportunity to answer them. The WheelSpotter App contains a database of images for greater than 15,000 wheels and wheel covers (this is so it does not require an internet connection to operate). If each image were made a larger file size, then the device would be required to devote more storage. The WheelSpotter App is already greater than 700 MB in size. The images are equal to or better than the printed images in the no longer published Hollander manual. Some Hollander Interchange numbers are expected to be different than what was published in a Hollander manual. The last manual was published years ago. The WheelSpotter App is always up to date. The WheelSpotter App contains the complete set of wheels and wheel covers in the Hollander Interchange for the past 20 years. If there is a wheel missing, it may not be in the Hollander Interchange or may be older than 20 years. The WheelSpotter App is designed with input from users to be the fastest way to identify a wheel. For many users familiar with the style of a wheel (e.g., know what a 7 Double Spoke style is), the fastest workflow is to filter by style when the style is uncommon. Sometimes, the fastest workflow is to search by the number embossed on the wheel. In some cases (e.g., when the style is common such a 5 Spoke, when the manufacturer logo appears on many wheels such as FORD, and when the wheel is mounted so its width and embossed number is not readily determinable), filtering results in hundreds of possible wheels; in these cases, taking a picture to sort the results visually is the fastest workflow. The fastest workflow depends on the attributes of the wheel and the expertise of the user. Sometimes it is fastest to take a picture. Sometimes it is fastest to filter without taking a picture. There are video examples on WheelSpotter.com.

the11cheto, thank you for indicating Wheelspotter is a 5-star app, if it were free. The Limited Edition version of WheelSpotter is free and displays the manufacturer part number or manufacturer ident number embossed on the wheel. It cannot display the Hollander Interchange Number, which is trademarked by the Hollander company, because this version is free. Hollander controls its trademark, the developer of WheelSpotter does not. The Guide Edition or Pro Edition versions of WheelSpotter display the Hollander Interchange Number and require a paid subscription, but each is available as a three-day free trial offer, so one can try them before being charged.

Missing options and results
Response from developer
Hi Tmpinol, sorry you expected to be able to use a photo for wheel covers, not solely wheels. We’ve changed to App Store page from “Disclaimer:…Visually sort wheels, not wheel covers…” to “Feature to take a photo and use it to visually sort results works for wheels, not wheel covers” based on your feedback, thank you. Scrolling to the bottom of the Filter screen to change the default from Wheel 560 to Wheel Cover 570 will give results for wheel covers. WheelSpotter is regularly updated with every wheel cover in the latest version of the Hollander Interchange for the last 20 years. If the wheel cover on your Toyota is not in the results, will you please send a photo or data about it to support@partspotter.com? I’ll research why not and let you know. /Joe
