Great concept, terrible customer support
As for the rower itself, same for the app. Great concept, but lacking customer support. Doesn’t connect properly to update my base unit firmware, crashes when trying to connect to Strava - & the response is that they’re working with their developers but don’t have a timeframe to resolve. I faced the same problem with the customer support team when my rower arrived missing a part (I had to retrofit myself with a car part)

Love the device but App is underwhelming.
I love my Whipr device. I have it set up as a rower and use it 4x a week. Unfortunately the app is underwhelming. Fixes needed include the discrepancy between the calories tracked on the unit and what is logged in the app and the constant crashes when attempting to upload to Strava. Future improvements should work to integrate with the Apple Health app and other workout trackers. Once the app is fine tuned, I would certainly subscribe for workouts within the app itself (I wasn’t a fan of the Froning app).

Great Machine - Still A Few Bugs
Love the machine and the app, wish you could sync the machine to the app to pull history of workout which the app was not used and wish the app could work in the background. Overall I know it is a work in progress and still very happy with the product and company - I want to support them and I know they will continue to improve.

Love Whipr but can improve
I love the Whipr fit and using it for all different modalities.
I think they can update the app and update the machine a bit but that will all happen in time.
Some apps I use it with the data doesn’t seem to match up to what it should be but I can row based on effort so I know where I’m at

App started disconnecting at 5 mins in
This may have started with the latest iOS update to 15.4 but now when I do a rowing workout with the whipr app the app is connected to the machine it starts counting away and about 4 or 5 minutes in it disconnects from the whipper machine and stops logging the workout at all. The machine is still logging the work out but the logs never show up in the app even if you reconnect to the whipr machine with the app and then go to look at the logs it’s still not seeing those log file. They are both connected to Bluetooth they have full battery life not sure what happened with iOS 15.4 or if that’s the cause but that’s what’s happening. Luckily my Apple Watch noticed I was doing a rowing workout and it started logging my workout for me instead.
