Great concept, terrible customer support

As for the rower itself, same for the app. Great concept, but lacking customer support. Doesn’t connect properly to update my base unit firmware, crashes when trying to connect to Strava - & the response is that they’re working with their developers but don’t have a timeframe to resolve. I faced the same problem with the customer support team when my rower arrived missing a part (I had to retrofit myself with a car part)

Love the device but App is underwhelming.

I love my Whipr device. I have it set up as a rower and use it 4x a week. Unfortunately the app is underwhelming. Fixes needed include the discrepancy between the calories tracked on the unit and what is logged in the app and the constant crashes when attempting to upload to Strava. Future improvements should work to integrate with the Apple Health app and other workout trackers. Once the app is fine tuned, I would certainly subscribe for workouts within the app itself (I wasn’t a fan of the Froning app).

Great Machine - Still A Few Bugs

Love the machine and the app, wish you could sync the machine to the app to pull history of workout which the app was not used and wish the app could work in the background. Overall I know it is a work in progress and still very happy with the product and company - I want to support them and I know they will continue to improve.

Love Whipr but can improve

I love the Whipr fit and using it for all different modalities.

I think they can update the app and update the machine a bit but that will all happen in time.

Some apps I use it with the data doesn’t seem to match up to what it should be but I can row based on effort so I know where I’m at

App started disconnecting at 5 mins in

This may have started with the latest iOS update to 15.4 but now when I do a rowing workout with the whipr app the app is connected to the machine it starts counting away and about 4 or 5 minutes in it disconnects from the whipper machine and stops logging the workout at all. The machine is still logging the work out but the logs never show up in the app even if you reconnect to the whipr machine with the app and then go to look at the logs it’s still not seeing those log file. They are both connected to Bluetooth they have full battery life not sure what happened with iOS 15.4 or if that’s the cause but that’s what’s happening. Luckily my Apple Watch noticed I was doing a rowing workout and it started logging my workout for me instead.

Terrible app

I wish the company would spend less time on social media and more time improving their app. Twice now I’ve done a full workout and it hasn’t saved any of my stats. It saves the workout itself, but time, distance, performance, etc. are all zeros in the log. It knows I did a SUP workout and shows my calories burned, but everything else is zero. The same thing happened with my first rowing workout. Super frustrating after the long wait for my Kickstarter merch.

App is garbage

Device is great. App is garbage. You have to keep the app on and open on your phone for it to remain connected to the Whipr device. The strava integration does not work. Although they recently updated the firmware, I’m still not sure that it calculates strokes correctly.

Bug in starting workout

Set up workout on app with a distance goal, click start and then it instantly starts, then stops and logs the workout. No way to get it to actually run the workout in real time on the app. The unit works ok but is really clunky to do intervals and start a new interval. The app would do well for this function except for this above mentioned bug.

Needs work

Caution this app may glitch and then does not capture workout! No option to pull logs from the connected whipr to make up for the lack of capture. Very basic functionality, needs work.

Whipr SUP is super; the app is so-so

I love my Whipr for SUP. The simulation is spot-on, especially if you stand on the flat side of a bosu. I’m hoping the app has more features coming. I’d like to see connectivity to an apple watch for heart rate and ease of use. It’s hard to use the phone app while “paddling” so adding watch compatibility would be great.

Brilliant!

I’ve been trying to figure out how to train SUP indoors for a couple of years. I bought the Row / SUP / Ski package and I love it!

This is awesome! I’m training to ride my road bike in a 129 mile ride in June. This will help me cross train all winter!

I’m pounding the SUP & Ski, and doing Dragon Boat on the rower. My wife loves the Row. My daughter is training for her first IronMan and she’s crushing the Row. At this pace, I’ll have to buy another package to keep the peace!

Thank you for getting me the best workouts in the winter in Montana ever in my life.

Love the device, the app not so much

I love my rower. I use it 3 times a week but sometimes forget to turn on the app. I always use FitIV app for every exercise including yardwork and it is my go to. Whipr is new so I hope in the future it will ap next with more than just Strava since I won’t pay for 2 tracking apps. I just don’t need that much.

I also wish it would sync with the health app on my iPhone if it would not work with FitIV.

Oh well, time will tell as the app gets updated more and there are more users.
