Faust gestern
Also diese Inszenierung hat uns gepackt obwohl ich bei Castorf Bedenken hatte. Aber nach der ausführlichen Einführung in diese wunderschöne Oper mit super Arien und Chören hat auch Castorf mich überzeugt. Diese 1,5 Stunden Einführung lohnen sich.
Diese auf Streamen getrimmte Inszenierung kommt in jedem Wohnzimmer an. Beine hoch, Wein entkorkt und schon begeistert die Technik in Ton und Bild und die Gestik aller Darsteller.
Eine Soundtrack sollte man schon haben.
Keine Fahrt und Hotelkosten, kein Nachbar der hustet gleichen das fehlende „live Erlebnis“ mehr als aus. Man sieht ja so genau dass es packen muss. Das haben alle ganz toll hinbekommen
Wie in der Einführung erwähnt, kann das ein Zukunftsmodell sein, mindestens solange uns ein Virus noch ärgert. Ein Obolus von zigtausend gleicht die Misere von heute mehr als aus.
Bin gerne bereit den zu entrichten wie in der MET und den Berlinern.
Hoffentlich kann man das nochmal streamen. ORFIII kann ich leider nicht in D empfangen.

Stop streaming when turn on subtitles on Apple TV
Hi there,
When I try to watch on the Apple TV app with subtitles (Russian in my case) video stream stops after fee minutes. But when I Turn subs off, it works correctly. Please do something with subtitles bug.

Wir nutzen die App seit dem Lockdown im Herbst. Wir haben jetzt die beste Oper der Welt in unserem Wohnzimmer. Das klappt perfekt! Es ist allerdings nur ein Ersatz. Live in Wien ist besser!
Nice app except for one problem
We enjoyed “Romeo and Juliet” & “ LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN”, etc., but were constantly distracted by pauses and dropped frames in the streaming feed. This is not a problem of distance or the internet connection— we stream opera from Berlin with no such issues. The problem seems to be that the iPhone Staatsoper app is not properly buffering the streaming feed. Most such apps will show that the app is reading ahead of the current play location but this app shows nothing like that, and judging from the jerkiness of the feed, no buffering appears to be performed. This is something the app developers should fix.

Chromecast fehlt
Die App ist für Opernfreunde ein „Muß“. Wünschenswert wäre, wenn man via Chromecast auf große TV-Geräte streamen könnte. Etliche TV-Gerätehersteller aktualisieren nach einer gewissen Zeit die Apps nicht mehr, sodass man am TV Opernaufführungen nicht mehr verfolgen kann.

I don’t use it anymore but there is no way to cancel the monthly payments. It keeps charging to my card

Disappointed
Some of the videos don’t have all of the subtitles like Aida the 2015 production the subtitles only appear half way through the opera really disappointing thought it would better.

Not sure what the issue was, but it certainly works now. Have to watch concerts for a class, so during quarantine this is really useful.

The subscription period is not stated at purchase
The app offers a subscription for about $19, but whether it is for a month or a year or for any other period is not stated. So I did not buy one. This really should be made clear.

Trauriges Angebot
Very disappointing
This app held a lot hope for me to be able to watch opera from Vienna. But then you realize they have an extremely limited library and if you a live showing then you just miss it no going back. Very frustrating for the cost. Better off buying met opera app.
