no option to turn off led indicators
I use this for brown noise at night to sleep and am sensitive to light in my room. in 2026 why do I still have to tape over the indicator light when you can easily control this with software
App is bricked 9/17/2026
They updated the app and now my device is a brick. It continually searches for the WiiM that it says is successfully connected to my network and has been working flawlessly for months. It’s just that the app can no longer successfully connect to it, even after manually forgetting my device and re installing it from scratch. This is BS. I was just buying another one for my dad’s house to connect to his home stereo system but now I think we’re going to need to go with the more expensive competitor because I can’t even fix my own much less my parent’s.

Needs native Apple Music integration
Needs native Apple Music integration as available source in Wiim app. Not just airplay which requires the initiating iOS device to remain connected. This is the biggest gap relative to Sonos.
Even my tesla has native Apple Music integration. Must have if you want to be a premium audio source to Apple centric households.

Can’t figure out how to change the WiFi

Very disappointed with ‘gimmick’ advertising about supported streaming services. Only plays limited few songs from limited artists on Pandora. 1 star. 😔

No Support
Help does not have supporting manuals or help for Wii sound lite speakers. Alarm won’t allow me to pick any music from Spotify.
App is a bit confusing
Just not user friendly. Menus are not intuitive, music apps not fluid with WiiM app. Play a song and it won’t let me play it again it jumps to another song. Remote volume control did not work after a couple days. Unplugged and reset and repaired it and still no volume control. The light blinks when I hit the volume buttons up and down but no change in volume.
*** Update: Remote works fine, my mistake, I had Volume set to Fixed. I guess I accident turned it on while looking through menus.

Awesome 1000% better than Sonos
I used to have a whole house Sonos system, amps streamer, speakers and subs. Then they screwed it up. Today I have a whole house WIIM System. The software in their app works like a dream, easy to understand and easier to use. And best of all their amps and streamers are less expensive. I can stream easily to the whole house and use really great speakers. The other thing about WIIM you can tune the sound to your own taste with EQ and room fit .

Constant Spotify Connect and Cast issues
I am using latest firmware, latest ios, Wiim help for Spotify connect, rebooting etc and I still can’t use my Wiim Ultra with Spotify because it does not show up in spotify devices for playback. I’m really regretting the purchase of this device. Why is this happening?
Developers listened and now a 5 star app!
I kind of hated the WiiM at first because of some app quirks but the developer reached out and listened to everything I said and the app is now GREAT. Wasn’t sure what route I was going to go with wiring my whole house up with these things, but this solidified my decision and I’m buying several more WiiM products now. Wish more companies were this good!

Getting stuck in a loop?
Despite signing up for Amazon music, which I didn’t really want to do, I keep getting stuck in an endless loop where the upgrade doesn’t take effect in the WiiM app. Brilliant engineering, team 🙄

Can’t set for HiRes easily
User experience is awful. Hours of frustration trying to align settings for HiRes for tagged (badged) music content.

Very easy to use and comprehensive software - easy to understand why other companies would license WIIM software rather than develop/support their own.
Poor everything
I’ve had the device for a couple years, it constantly wants to upgrade firmware. Lots of hiccups, just very lo-fi and poir quality!
