Almost perfect

Overall good build quality, sleek design and it disappears for the most part, which is nice. Remote is somewhat over-simplified though.

Easy to setup/use, lots of configurable features and settings to adjust according to taste and what equipment you have in the rest of your chain.

The Bluetooth streaming is somewhat unreliable with my current setup (no fault of the WiiM) so I use Ethernet hardwire with AirPlay connectivity and there are no issues streaming YouTube Music from a 15Pro iPhone to the WiiM, which has optical out to a Marantz Cinema 60 (Polk Audio RTi-A9, CSi-A6, XT-12).

A bit pricy for what it does, but much better than any Bluetooth receiver.

Some minor bugs that the developer is addressing.

Bottom line:

If you need a multi-source input for connectivity, it’s a good solution. I’m very happy with mine and would recommend it.

An EQ headroom feature is planned for a future update to address this behavior. Thanks for your patience! If you encounter any problems, please send us feedback through the app > more > feedback - we can help troubleshoot the issue with you.

Music file indexing is hopeless

I have a very large library on an external drive. I am constantly having issues with playing tracks that play on other devices but the Wiim simply will not play them. They are standard format either Flac or Mp3. I can play the tracks on the Wiim home app on the desktop but when I try to play the same track using the app on my iphone 16e it skips to another track on the same album. I have tried rescanning, reinstalling, the same error keeps occuring. Even moving files in very small batches, I get the same problem. It doesnt even stay consistent with which albums it does this with, I’m sick of going around in circles trying to make this work, I’m ready to throw the stupid thing in the bin. Jellyfin has no issues with any tracks at all, even with over 30,000 tracks. Unfortunately for me though, the Wiim app on my phone will only scan a very small portion from Jellyfin so again I’m stuck. Extremely disappointed.

Nice app

Good quality app love !!🥰 Easy to use and fast

WiiM Ultra

This piece of equipment and the app is a great combination. Well, It took me a minute to get the feel of the app., however, I’m now dialed in to the functions of the app.

Little Box but power packed

Super impressed by sound quality, app integration and usability. One of the smartest amps you can ever get. Simple but powerful device

From good to worst.

Your most recent update deleted 5 months of setup work. All presets are gone. Subscriptions are gone. Can't even save new presets. The EQ setup is gone. Even Sonos was not this bad. You seem to be pushing Tune In which lacks better streaming channels that Mytuner has, which does not work with WiiN. Too late to return to Crutchfield. So all I can do is post bad reviews.

Works well… and can be confusing

This app actually works for sending the audio signal (music) to my home hifi system. And, using it can be confusing… for example you have to be sure WiiM is on the same Wifi network as your device (a laptop in my case). It (the app) also refers to other devices as “mobile device” which can create confusion when using a laptop as a song source. But do like the performance and especially like being able to adjust the sound fidelity.

Impressive

I’ve been a wiim user for two years . Every update improves it. The landscape gets easier and the app improves. What more can you ask for? Sonos users will be left in the dust soon by this company.

Works as described

Update 7/8/2026

On my android (Google TV ) front end for my Sony 55” TV , I added the WIIM tv app and now The menus can be displayed on the TV screen (( without using this app))

I have had my WIIM Pro for over 1 1/2 years and have enjoyed its sound and flexibility without issue.
The IOS app has improved over time and now I’m used to the changes over time.
I mainly use it for streaming YouTube premium music and my extensive ripped CD collection on my server at home. ( other integrated connections I use on occasion).
My WIIM Pro is connected via Ethernet(RJ45) without any issues.
I do wish for a PC app to serve as an alternate interface to this IOS app.
I am a Happy Listener of Classical and Pipe Organ music.
Thank You-

What a great app.

Every update is a banger. I’ve had my ultra for a year and I’m impressed with the constant evolution of features. They also offer excellent customer service.

Excellent

Clear, logical and very well supported.

Works very well.

This works really well and allows connection - through Bluetooth - from my turntable using line in phono connections - to my Sony Theatre Quad Sound System. It also comes with streaming connections like Spotify, Amazon Music and loads of others. Sound quality is superb.

Great App needs to get into audiophile quality sound.

While it’s the best network DAC media streamer, I do believe it can get better. Clean up the incoming stream of noise and jitter, make the base tight not a boom through better room correction. The treble is very good the best I’ve heard from the few I’ve heard (Bluesound Node Icon and the SMSL DP 5 SE). Make the music clean and smooth having a dynamic range from highs and lows. I listen on Genelec speakers and subwoofers on a 9.4 Denon 4800h AVC system.

ChromeCast Issues

There are a couple music streaming services that aren’t available through WiiM to use WiFi. Initially ChromeCast worked fine but the last couple months it’s been unlistenable. Stays connected to WiiM Ultra but just stops playing. Sometimes the time count continues as if it’s still playing and sometimes it doesn’t. Happens with multiple apps. Wish it would get corrected.

Not really

Got a long way to go. First of all your widget doesn't stay up on my lock screen which is abysmal at best, the fact that I have to go in and unlock my phone every three seconds just to change the song or like the song or dislike this song, not to mention there's no reason I should ever have to turn on my location just to use a device. That's pathetic and intrusive.
Thirdly the fact that I can't use the device or link to if my VPN is turned on is a definite dealbreaker and should not be an issue in today's technology date and age.
None of my other devices have these types of issues, but yours magically does. So if you could bother fixing the lock screen widget, and get rid of whatever useless reason there is for needing me to turn on my location and update your software so I can use my VPN just to listen to music............That would be great. Thanks.

Sorry for the inconvenience. The WiiM home app doesn't currently support widgets. Are you referring to Allow playback control on lock screen? Enabling this feature only to switch audio sources and adjust the volume. Thanks for your suggestion about widget! We will share it with our product team for consideration and potential optimization. We value your privacy. Location permissions are strictly used for the initial Wi-Fi configuration. Once your device is set up, these permissions can be safely disabled. It is best not to use a VPN, as it places your phone and WiiM device on different networks and prevents them from connecting. If you need a VPN, we suggest setting it up on your router, your phone and WiiM stay on the same local network.

Almost Perfect

I love the app & the WiiM Amp Pro. It has been Amazing in my office. I only use Spotify & YouTube Music — My only complaints are that you can’t queue music in YouTube music through the WiiM app, & unlike Spotify, you can’t queue music in the YouTube Music app either, so you’re stuck selecting every song 1-by-1. Additionally, my YouTube account is broken up into 2 for my 1 email address. My primary is my YouTube channel which has all my latest playlists, while my secondary is from when Google Play Music was a thing. Unfortunately you cannot select a specific sub-account on YouTube Music in the WiiM app, so I’m stuck with my playlists from 2014 unless I recreate my playlists for that specific profile.

Remote

I’m still learning.

Needs work

For the older user, it is a bit on the complicated side. I have my music on a NAS drive but I can’t find it or play it..

The features on the app actually work really well for optimizing your music

I did a sine sweep test with my bookshelves and a subwoofer and was noticing that on certain frequencies there would be constructive and destructive interference on my left or right ear. The subwoofer/speaker sync fixed the issue entirely by adding in a very slight delay to my bookshelves. I think the room fit eq also made the sine sweep test much more natural sounding, basically applying an automatic eq.

In another note, the app is very intuitive to use and has been working for me with no problems via AirPlay.
