New is not always better

We used the old version on our trip around Australia and dozens of trips around WA. The new version is not particularly user friendly but will keep trying to make sense of it!

Put it back

Why are there no longer options for dogs allowed etc? All the fillers have changed and it’s so much harder to use. It should automatically open to the map view and the filters need to be put back! I may finally move over to the all camps app

What happened

This used to be a great resource but it’s become very buggy. Filters don’t seem to work. All the campsites keep disappearing and I have to restart the app. I press on a campsite and nothing loads or it just stalls out after looking at two photos and won’t load anything else. Overall it just keeps needing a restart it over and over to get things to load again. That’s on a good Internet connection- all other apps working fine.

This probably isn’t the fault of the developers but every “free” campsite I find on here is actually paid.

Use to be better

It doesnt update well. Sometimes not at all.

Use to be better.

Disgraceful Discovery Parks

How you took a perfect app, and absolutely destroyed it is beyond me. It’s clearly been done on purpose to try and destroy free camping. Either way, the MS sign in, the drop outs, the in ability to upload images, the loss of weather in that region, the list goes on and on. It’s so bad, I’m considering building and launching the functionality of the old app.
You’re a disgrace.

Too much detail, dont want to know about flagpoles and other items, just want camp sites

Will not log in after update.

This is the last straw. Wont log in wont send complaint. Wont see me again.

Updating this App Broke It

Exactly 10 years ago we downloaded this App to travel Au and we loved it!! It was our go to when travelling, our on-road bible. We recommended it to so many people. Now I’d recommend it to no one!! The updating of this App has totally ruined it. It’s way harder to navigate around & very frustrating trying to find what was once a breeze. Please go back to the old but “much improved” version & we’ll happily recommend again instead of meeting fellow travellers, as we do, and all bagging out the current version. No one likes the current version (except those who haven’t experienced the absolutely fabulous old version), so please, please listen more seriously to the current reviews of your “original” and long term customers. 🤞🤞

Details incorrect

As the owner of a campsite listed I am not able to update incorrect details as they do not get approved. As a result contact details and social links are incorrect. Repeated edits submitted rejected and support emails ignored.

So hard to get into wiki camps

Why is it so hard just to get into wiki camps after using it for years now

Not what it used to be

This app is not what it used to be. Many of the free camps have been removed. Poor form. Not happy Jan.

Next to uless

every time I need it I’ve gotta spend 20 minutes redoing passwords. Can never find anything that I’m looking for. It’s the most difficult website I’ve ever had to use. I’m heading back to AI—it’s just so much easier to use regular Google.

Downhill since G’day parks bought in

Ever since gday parks took over this app, it’s slowly gone downhill. From including ads for people who have payed for the full version to now making the app nearly completely useless. It used to be one of the best apps which you could rely on whether in service or not. However recently I went to use it to find a camp spot when out of reception, and despite logging in that very morning, I had been logged out of the app again and had no way to access the offline maps. It’s clear Gday wants to discourage the use of the app so that their own caravan parks get more visitors, and people free camp less. The app is also extremely buggy now, it takes a second or two for pins on the map to show up when moving it around which makes it feel extremely clunky, and accessing information feels so painful. Desperately waiting for someone to make a better version of this app so we can all move on from the Gday mess

Fraudulent Business Practices

I paid for the add free version and now I am getting adds regardless. Unacceptable.

So limited

Google maps does everything this does except is free. Spoke to customer service got directed to Facebook. So disappointing

The new interface is difficult to navigate

The info is there but the previous version was way more user friendly. The new app looks great but functionally is worse than before. I used to use WikiCamps as primary camping app and I find myself reaching to other sources now, following the update - even little things like level of detail with the zoom, and the filters can be super frustrating.

So helpful!

Thanks to this app we didn’t spend a cent on accommodation on our roadtrip from Perth to Sydney! Very convenient.

Ads

I paid for this app and it has advertisements in it. Disgusting. Explains why the quality of site reviews has decreased as I feel there are less users. Atrocious, I despise this money grubbing behaviour.

well

forced to upgrade, now can‘t recognize what I looked at for years. Map is no good to orientate, the icons look all the same. The software might be cheeper to maintain (maybe a google generic or such) but yes, obviously new owner who dreamed of squeezing lots of bucks out of their purchase. - charge business to be listed - charge users to use app, while using for free their input - charge for each booking with business - try to involve users to plan their trip on the app, nothing archived.
