privacy issues?

My camera works absolutely fine and I’m generally happy with it as a device, however the app now appears to want access to far too many things (location, no vpn switched on etc.) and I am suspicious as to what other information is being collected in the background, despite the developer’s statement that they collect no user data.

Downloading

Downloading takes too long unless you connect cam directly to computer

Prototype application at best

First issue is you can’t hook up the camera to a wifi or LTE network, but it’s a complicated login process where you establish a bluetooth connection first to start the wifi router inside the camera (!). Then it connecting to the camera to change setting or download photos takes a minute at least and has a 70% failure rate when I try it with my iPhone even when I’m standing right in front of the camera. Then the camera doesn’t detect animals smaller than my 25 lbs dog. Also downloading fotos takes forever, about half a minute per foto. Very dissapointing user experience.

It won’t connect by Bluetooth to my camera

Not fit for purpose

While my trail cam works well, the app offers no benefit beyond showing me the image where the camera is pointing when I pair the camera and my iPhone. Other than that, it doesn’t show any saved images or allow me to check the cam remotely. And I have to be standing right next to the trail cam to get them to connect. I would love to find a Help/Troubleshoot guide.
