Should’ve used Claude instead of ChatGPT to make this app
I have a quite extensive SmartHome, but this is by far the worst experience I ever had.
Poorly made application
App never sent me an email confirmation code. Won’t allow me to sign up.
Connection Failure
Unable to connect it to the Wi-Fi after multiple attempts.
Smart?
Unable to have more than 1 unit connected to the app.
What a pathetic app
Was a pain to get hooked up to the internet, then it wanted an update after update to use. Like there is no way air filter needs like 6 updates over 3 months to keep working and then the insult is the damn keeps “losing connection”. Worst app ever. I feel they should pay me for all time they wasted.

Worthless; Can't find my wifi network
I just bought this air purifier. My wifi router is 4 feet away from the air purifier with an unobstructed view. The app cannot find my wifi network yet will pick up the neighbors' wifi from across the street. Now I can't setup the wifi functionality on the air purifier at all.
One of the worst apps I have delt with. 😔
I was very excited about this air filter for the price point and reviews. Sadly — I can only give it one star for how bad this app is… it never lets me login, says I don’t have the correct password, I go through the steps to reset it, it says it’s been reset and still doesn’t let me login. The one time I was able to login and connect to my device, it kept un-connecting to the device so I couldn’t use any smart features.

Not loving the app restrictions
I like that I connected a device once over a year ago and the app still works. Most things randomly disconnect. But not being able to make my own names for where they are located is nuts. And then my US city was not on the list. It’s going to have to remember that bedroom means my bedroom and “attic” is for a different bedroom. This is just annoying. Give us a write in box.

Won’t connect
Junky app, device won’t connect
AQI readings
The app works well for operating the unit but I find the AQI readings to be garbage: they are completely different from what the unit indicator light is showing. There is not apparent reason given for this, although it may be that the app is only reporting for the PM sensor and not the VOC one?
Exceptional
I often forget I even have them running. Both are so quiet! And both are refurbished, what an amazing value and product. Very happy with my purchase, already recommend a friend lol
Spyware - Malicious
App needs precise location, registered account to harvest your data, and requires you to GIVE THE APP your WiFi password.
Winix Air Purifier Review
Very user friendly & ergonomic Smart air purifier application!
Failure
Tried connecting multiple times to device via WiFi network with no success. Rebooted both the purifier and my device multiple times. Epic failure.
Purifier is great but don’t bother with getting the App!!
The system itself as a purifier is great… If you do not need it on your smart home app to control it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to pair this to my this device to my network! i’ve decided to delete the app and make it a point to write this review. Like I said purifier is great. Comes with a bunch of filters but if you absolutely must have it on a network….buyer beware! 😩

Good
Good
App works. reprogram the unit so it works in dim light.
My shark one would work at night. This one turns off as soon as the room is dimly lit. What good is the app if auto mode won’t filter out smoke throughout the night?
Works well, could be 5 stars if…
The app allows you to set schedules for your Winix air filters and other devices. Schedule setting is intuitive. However there are 2 things that fall short of a 5 star rating. The first is only one device can be logged in to the app at a time under the same user account. So if you are logged into the app on your iPhone and you log in on your iPad you are logged out of the app on your iPhone. And vice versa. I have many other apps that allow multiple logins from multiple devices under one account, BlueOs and Sonos being two examples. The second is it would be nice to be able to change the order in which your Winix appliances appear in the app. I now have four of them, one of which is a replacement for one that became too noisy for the living room. Now the new Winix appliance for the living room is in the fourth position in the app instead of in the second position in the app. Now I could go through and delete all of them and start over from scratch but then you lose all the scheduling and history.

Fine but room for improvement
It’s fine enough but they need to add tue ability to name the unit whatever you want and not a pre programmed name.
