UPDATE: This game has been buggy last few months as it stuck on timer but I’d wait it out as love the game. Worked with the buggies yesterday but today it won’t even open I get a black screen and eventually it pops me out or I have to manually close as it will lock up my phone. Please fix the game.
Since last update it now allows one word then screen freezes up. I either must wait sometimes two minutes bc if I go out fermenter game it will freeze again after entering one word. The ads won’t close out so o never even play unless off WiFi now so rarely. Sad. I used to love this app.

Latest update causes issues/lots of ads
Changed review to one star. Now eight months and the game is still not fixed. The company that owns it is garbage. Only worried about collecting ad revenue and not actually being able to play the game.
I am giving one star because I can’t give zero or negative stars. This used to be my favorite game but the most recent update has broken the game. It constantly freezes about every minute or so for a minute or longer then plays for another minute or so before freezing again. This update runs ads after every round now.
I now play without Wi-Fi or cell data on to avoid the incessant ads but the freezing continues.
Do not download this game.

Totally unusable.
Love it but…
Wish there was a paid version with NO ads. Spend 1/2 my time watching ads to get to a new game. Ugh!
Freezes
The game freezes every 30 seconds for 5-10 seconds, not fun anymore at all- was better 2 versions ago
Sux
This app is offensive. The ads are overpowering and sometimes quit you out of the game. They have gotten much worse lately. Often they force you to go to the App Store for an app I would never buy. I would be happy to pay for an ad free version but alas, it is not available. I do like the ability to look words up in game but that won’t keep me from deleting the game.

Unplayable now since the update..😡
Since the update, pressing on a letter doesn’t work half of the time, you have to go back and press it again. And…the ads get into a loop and stops you from accessing the game…I loved this game before for years, and now…unplayable! That sucks!
Freezing
Same complaint as everyone else. Game completely frozen. Can’t get to settings to use the support button because app is frozen. Have closed out all apps, reset phone and on current OS.
Word Warp
Love the game but keeps freezing up. Deleted and reinstalled but after a while it started doing it again. Also, I know ads are revenue, but makes it difficult to play when they last so long
Ads have ruined this app
This used to be my go to game for several years. Now they have ads after every single round, and it’s annoying. An ad after every few rounds is fine, but after every single round?? It’s to the point where a third of my time is waiting for ads to finish. I’m done with this game and will uninstall. Such a shame.

App now lags and freezes like crazy
I’ve loved WordWarp since I got an iPhone a million years ago but it is currently unplayable because it freezes every like 20 seconds. Please fix!!

I’ve enjoyed playing the game over the years. Recently I can only create one or two words before it freezes on me
Game keeps freezing
I’ve had this app for years and for the last few months it’s been freezing. Up till now it would have been five stars. Is there a fix in the works?
Laggy
Used to love playing this game, but now the game lags after two or three words typed in. End up having to restart to try to play. Cumbersome and I just shut it down. It’s a real shame.

This game has always been my favorite to play on my phone.
Not anymore. The whole thing keeps locking up and won't work. I have deleted it twice now and erased all my high score to see if that would fix it. It hasn't!! Is there something that can be done about this issue or is this game just too old to be played anymore?

Interesting that my reviews were deleted
I first downloaded this app around 2011. Mobilityware’s solitaire game was my first download on my iPod.
I loved Word Warp. I could play it every single day for relaxation and stress reduction.
Sometime in late 2025/early 2026, I wrote a review and mentioned that it stopped working on my iPhone. I listed the steps I did to try to fix it on my end (delete/reinstall, turn phone on and off, etc.), but nothing helped.
The game would freeze about 5 seconds into each attempt, it would continue to freeze sporadically, and I could never get through a level.
I was instructed my Mobilityware to contact them via the app, which I did. Their answer was basi, “Yeah, we know. Don’t know what to do about it.”
I’ve seen many people complain about the same issues, and nothing is done to fix this problem many months later.
Why my review was deleted, I don’t know. I was not rude or incorrect in my experience.
I like Mobilityware’s apps. They aren’t battery hogs, and they are genuinely interesting to play.
I truly do miss WordWarp. I only wish the developers would be more customer focused and open about what the problems are.

Long Time Fan
I’ve had this game downloaded on my phone and/or iPad for at least 15 years. I had gotten up to level 839, playing off and on over the years. I was so proud of my high score. But one night, I played while I was extremely sleepy. By the time I woke up, the timer had gone to zero and I had no choice but to start over from zero. That was I’m January of this year (26). But my point is, a LOT of games come and go, but this one will ALWAYS be a staple for me. It’s simple and not flashy and it keeps my brain fresh lol. It’s more than one of my favs, it’s like an old friend.

The game freezes frequently. It appears to occur when the phone is receiving a message.
I used to love this game
This game lags TERRIBLY. I don’t know why but it is suddenly hanging and it drives me crazy. It also has started affecting my score which is very frustrating. PLEASE FIX IT. My WIFI is great so don’t blame that.
15 years later the app now has issues
I’ve had this app since 2011 and it has been my go to many many times. But over the last several months this app has frozen a number of times. And now in June, this app now has ads when I paid for the ads to be removed way back in 2011. So I don’t know what’s going on, but this is driving me crazy. I really want to see the app fixed so it goes back to no ads (like my purchase ) and not freezing. I’m only giving two stars, but I’m thinking I should be doing one only because the app is currently unplayable with all the freezing.
