The best dictionary app
It’s crazy if you think about it. Almost 300k words and definitions for absolutely 0% and it’s easily browsable. I’m not advertising nor a bot but this is definitely the best free english dictionary app you’ll find in the app store.
Do not like new version
Gray search and lookup area are now gray and hard to see, too cluttered, icon at top right is off edge of screen. Wish Apple would let users downgrade to more useable version.
My recommended dictionary app
I love so many features of this dictionary: offline access, usage examples, synonyms, and direct links to related words. Some definitions do use the searched word, but overall it works well for me. I haven’t used another dictionary app on my devices since I found this one a few years ago. I love the simple, uncluttered interface, and the best thing is it is ad-free. Thank you Antony

Just realized I’ve been using WordWeb for free for 7 years and haven’t left a review! Great app, great UI, great definitions, easy to save bookmarks, it just works. Antony Lewis has made and maintained a high quality app for a long time at no charge.
Very useful app
A great partner to the Chambers dictionary and thesaurus, WordWeb’s database is more like an encyclopedia so helps find those elusive proper name solutions to puzzle clues.

the BEST dictionary app ever
WHY DOESNT APPLE JUST MAKE THEIR MACOS DICTIONARY APP ON IPHONE???? frustrating. But honestly this app is even better, i absolutely love it. its convenient, and theres no BS ads or stupid element clogging up the screen (Webster). love this app, thank you to whoever made it!!

My favorite dictionary app for over 15 years now
Such a reliable, easy to use dictionary app. It’s intuitive in every way, gives you great suggestions when you misspell a word you’re searching for. Easily shows you pronunciations, synonyms, antonyms, specific regional words, spellings, and on top of that, it has a great list of historical names as well as places. It is my go-to dictionary app and I’ve used it almost daily for years and it has never failed me, if anything, it keeps impressing me despite its simplicity!

Problem
The x does not clear the old search
Can't see it!
If only the print size were big enough for me to read this app (even WITH glasses), I'm quite sure it would fulfill my needs. But neither the app itself, nor any of Apple's built-in adjustments under Settings, have any effect on that tiny print.
Fix this and once I can see it clearly, I'll be happy to give this app 5 stars!
