Sign out issue

This app constantly logs you out. The problem with this is that you need to be logged in with the keys downloaded in order to access the building, choose a floor in the elevator, access amenities, access your room and others. Best one so far is when you get in the elevator and the doors close. The floor selector isn’t working and you realize oh, of course! The app logged me out again! You would think you would be able to click the door open button in order to get out of the elevator on the floor you got on in order to get the cell or wifi service to have your phone be able to log in to the app to restart the process of getting your keys but no, the elevator is locked until someone else comes along and calls it. Such a safety issue let alone a hindrance of being a member or living at X Denver

What I should have expected

The application causes more pain than it does good. I get automatically logged out of my account all the time so I need to sign in on my phone and redownload the keys just to open my door. I recommend just carrying your key card around at all times which is annoying but it’s better than using the app.

It does the job well

Been using it for 6 months. All the features work properly, and smoothly. I’ve only seen it crash twice when I got to my front door and I reboot and get back to my key in about 2-3 seconds. Yes that’s annoying but it’s like messing with your keys trying to getting it in the key hole. Very rarely it happens but it does.

Always having access to your location isn’t the best feeling. If you go into your permission settings on the iPhone. It does have a statement saying they are not storing the data, the privacy policy doesn’t exactly back that up. They still reserve the right to sell data within the past 12 months. That is something you can opt, btw.

Since I’ve had the app I’ve only seen improvement!

Some nice ideas. Some unacceptable ones.

The app forces you to have location services set to always on to access basic Bluetooth keys.

For an app that is required to access your apartment, this is not acceptable. Privacy issues aside, this drains the battery of my phone, degrading its capacity over time and generally causing me to hate this application.

Which is a shame because there are some nice features.

Key sharing, event booking, room booking…

A bit slow for these tasks sometimes, but hopefully it will improve.

Just get rid of required location sharing guys it’s awful.

Make it easier to unlock you door

It it very cumbersome to use this app to open a door. Providing an integration with iPhone shortcuts to allow the automation of the ‘unlock’ ..(big green button) would allow me to automate unlocking my door with a double or tripple back tap.

The messaging app is wonky.

Remote unlock requires (the same) authentication code at least a dozen times a year….always happens when you hands are full and the regular lock is not working.

Most residents just use the card now. Less hassle.

Let me tell you my personal horror story of how terrible this app/company is:

First off, let me start by saying I have never been compelled to leave a Google/App Store review in my life but this app/company has given me such an unacceptable experience that I feel forced to share.

I left for a four day vacation on which I would have very limited cell service. Prior to leaving, I had given key access through the app to two of my friends who have previously been able to access the building/my room just fine in addition to giving my manual key card to a friend just in case to help watch my cat while gone. I had an issue with the app’s key functionality the week prior which the X Company said they would remedy (they did not and also did not follow up at all) but figured it would be fine since my friend had the actual manual key card.

The third day of my vacation, I received cell service again and saw that I had a barrage of texts from my friends. Not only had the key access I had provided my friends through the app to get into my room not work, but the MANUAL KEY CARD that I had left with them was also not working (this is the only other way to get into your apartment outside of the app). Apparently, my door had randomly been set to “offline”, something that you as the apartment holder cannot control and essentially revokes ALL key access to your apartment, including your own!

So, I had to reach out to the front desk while on vacation to give them instructions to let my friends into the apartment (even though I had already given them all access through the app and they had that on record). The person in charge of the front desk displayed complete indifference to the fact that my cat could be dying upstairs. After speaking with them and granting permission for the friends to enter the room yet again, it STILL TOOK OVER AN HOUR for them to let my friends in to check on my cat despite them being fully aware of the severity of the situation. Upon finally gaining entry to my apartment my poor cat was emaciated and dehydrated but thankfully ok which is the only reason you are reading about this through a review as opposed to a lawsuit.

Despite this nightmare of a situation being presented directly to them, the X company still did not follow up to assist in any way in getting access to my apartment. As the cherry on top, when I got back from my 12 hour trip home I found that my own app access to my apartment did not work and I was locked out of my own apartment! After speaking with the security guard to let me into my apartment, the X tried to gaslight me yet again telling me it’s “fine” I currently have no way to access my own apartment for the time being and “they can help” if I get locked out again.

Dealing with both the app and the staff in this situation has been nothing short of maddening. While it is cool that you can theoretically shoot key access to friends through the app, it is much more abundantly clear that whatever software engineer they hired to manage software updates and bug fixes is either astoundingly incompetent or completely abandoned his post as not a single X staff member has been helpful at all in resolving this issue that I have had raised with them for over two weeks now. I write this review not only as a cautionary tale for others but also in hopes that this finally compels the staff to assist me which to this point they have not done.

X denver

App is awful. A 12 year old can develop a better app. UI garbage, nothing ever loads, app always crashes. Do better.

Could be way better

App logs you out at the most random times. Sometimes it’s a week, sometimes a month, maybe after a day or two. Then you have to sit there redownload the keys to get in your room. Doesn’t sound bad unless your phone is getting close to dead or you are carrying groceries or a package into your room and boom it logs you out.

“Always” tracks your location even while you do not use app

The only way you can unlock doors is when you “Always allow” not “While using app”. This app totally invades privacy and keeps track of your location so they can sell your data. Beware!!

Doesn’t work half the time

This app will randomly log me out when I am trying to use the keys requiring me to re-login 2x and download the keys for offline use. Additionally it requires to use your location 100% of the time which seems weird to me. This app would be way better if I could just add the key to my phone wallet and not have to use it at all. Would give it 0/5 stars if I could

Key

It would be so much better if you could add the key to your wallet instead on having to use the application to get to the key. Not as convenient.

Way better than angry birds

This app got me laid!
