Easy to use and install
XThing app Updated July 2026… NO BUENO
I have no complaints about my Uhome/UBolt locking device and app as it has served me well for 4 years 2022-2026 with NO PROBLEMS. My compliant centers around the latest Uhome /XThings app update. The Uhome/XThings developers pushed an update July 2026 and now my app will not open. I press to XThings icon AS USUAL, it starts to open and quickly goes back to the icon. Please push another update to fix this problem or direct me on how to undo the last update. Thx🫤

3.67 IS BROKEN!
I have used it’s up for years, but today, it did the auto-update thing, and it hasn’t worked ever since! When I launch it, the app immediately closes. I use an iphone SE on IOS 15.8.8 PLEASE FIX IT!
Awesome lock
This lock is literally the best lock ever opens upon arrival to the house and you can store fingerprints on it which means you don’t need a key. Couldn’t recommend it high enough.
Stopped working
I have had these locks since it was the U-tec app. I finally updated the firmware because my lock was beeping. I wish I had ignored the update. After updating the firmware, my lock no longer works (keeps beeping, keypad is inoperable, won’t stay connected to wifi bridge, and is finicky with Bluetooth). The update made my lock defective. My guess is that they want to force customers to buy new locks. I wouldn’t buy it again. I will try another brand that is made to last.
Update: As I guessed it, they want me to purchase a new lock and sent this message:
“After reviewing your case, we found that your product is currently out of warranty, and unfortunately, we’re unable to offer a free replacement this time.
Please note that the replacement to fix the problem belongs to electronic components.
That said, we still want to support you the best we can.
As a courtesy, we’d like to offer you 30% off (based on the MSRP) any U-tec product that is still in mass production and available on our U-tec Store and ULTRALOQ Store (US addresses only). If you’re interested, just let us know the model and color you prefer, and we’ll send you an invoice to proceed.”
After googling the issue, I see this is a common issue that U-tec refuses to fix.
