Unreliable home safety
This is my first app review though I’ve had an iPhone for a long long time. The app for the lock just does not work well. It keeps disconnecting. There is no scheduling feature (eg you cannot automatically lock the door at midnight as a piece of mind). You will waste a lot of your time with the app, the locks, the bridges. The Alexa skill is totally unreliable. Just look online at users’ forums. A malfunctioning app means your house is left unlocked when you thought it was locked.

Auto unlocked doesn't work
Auto unlock worked flawlessly until the latest update/firmware update… now I can't get it to work at all… I disabled it deleted the app reinstalled it and now I can't get it to connect to set up the auto unlocked says the connection failed also deleted the lock from my app and now I can't re-add it.. factory reset to no avail.. this is getting worse by the moment HELP

I use the lock for month without an issue, when I update a new update the apps start crash. And can’t revise the old app

Works but has bugs
The deadbolt widget is one of my favorite features but it will randomly stop working. The only way I have found to fix is to delete the lock from the app and reconnect it. Not the end of the world but kind of annoying if that’s your favorite feature like me
App crashes
App crashes immediately after signing up and logging into my account.
App doesn’t work
The app doesn’t always work 100% of the time. Sometimes when using it will give a failed to connect to server or unable to get token error message

This app is very clunky. Currently stuck in an infinite loop. Can’t log in, says user doesn’t exist. I did the register…says account already exists. Total garbage.

XThing app Updated July 2026… NO BUENO
I have no complaints about my Uhome/UBolt locking device and app as it has served me well for 4 years 2022-2026 with NO PROBLEMS. My compliant centers around the latest Uhome /XThings app update. The Uhome/XThings developers pushed an update July 2026 and now my app will not open. I press to XThings icon AS USUAL, it starts to open and quickly goes back to the icon. Please push another update to fix this problem or direct me on how to undo the last update. Thx🫤

3.67 IS BROKEN!
I have used it’s up for years, but today, it did the auto-update thing, and it hasn’t worked ever since! When I launch it, the app immediately closes. I use an iphone SE on IOS 15.8.8 PLEASE FIX IT!
Awesome lock
This lock is literally the best lock ever opens upon arrival to the house and you can store fingerprints on it which means you don’t need a key. Couldn’t recommend it high enough.
Stopped working
I have had these locks since it was the U-tec app. I finally updated the firmware because my lock was beeping. I wish I had ignored the update. After updating the firmware, my lock no longer works (keeps beeping, keypad is inoperable, won’t stay connected to wifi bridge, and is finicky with Bluetooth). The update made my lock defective. My guess is that they want to force customers to buy new locks. I wouldn’t buy it again. I will try another brand that is made to last.
Update: As I guessed it, they want me to purchase a new lock and sent this message:
“After reviewing your case, we found that your product is currently out of warranty, and unfortunately, we’re unable to offer a free replacement this time.
Please note that the replacement to fix the problem belongs to electronic components.
That said, we still want to support you the best we can.
As a courtesy, we’d like to offer you 30% off (based on the MSRP) any U-tec product that is still in mass production and available on our U-tec Store and ULTRALOQ Store (US addresses only). If you’re interested, just let us know the model and color you prefer, and we’ll send you an invoice to proceed.”
After googling the issue, I see this is a common issue that U-tec refuses to fix.

Too many bugs
Works for a while and then doesn’t. Features come and go, despite keeping up to date. Sometimes deleting the app and reinstalling works but not always.

Terrible customer support
I purchased this lock 4 years ago. The latest firmware update bricked the lock and the CS team refused to investigate or fix it. The lock has a lifetime warranty which they will not honor and the best they are offering is 30% off a new purchase. The issue is due to their own firmware update which they refuse to address. Would not recommend this product.
