Needs a tweak

I downloaded this app, as I have been looking for one that has different colors for my projects. In my opinion, this keeps the screen from being boring. I love all the different colors for all my different projects. What I don’t love is the fact that I can’t delete or edit a project if I put it in the app by mistake, or if I make a mistake while putting it in the app. It would help a lot if that ability was available.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app, as that usually clears the data, but my mistakes are still there.

I’m adding something to my review, as Apple won’t allow me to write a new one.

The problems I detailed in my previous review were addressed and taken care of, and I am grateful for that. A new update allowed me to change my favorite colors to favorite shades, which I loved.

I am not in love with the latest update. I was really enjoying the pastel colors with a white background. Now, the different projects are pastel colors with dark backgrounds. I preferred the white background, and I can’t find a way to change it back. I think you should give people the option to choose a dark or light (white) background.

Thanks so much for trying the app and for taking the time to write such a detailed review 🙏 Good news: you can delete projects right now. To delete a project, simply: 1. Go to your list of projects 2. Swipe left on the project you want to remove 3. Tap “Delete” Because your projects are always synced with iCloud, just deleting and reinstalling the app won’t clear them — iCloud restores your data when you reinstall. Once you delete a project using the swipe gesture above, it will also be removed from iCloud. Your point about making editing/deleting more obvious is totally fair. I’ll look into making this clearer in the interface so it’s easier to discover in the future. Thanks again for the feedback and for using the app 💛

Watch

Wonderful ✨😍only thing that I suggest is to be able to put it on the watch face so I don't have to go to the app list to use it

Thanks, glad to hear you’re enjoying the app! 🥳 With the upcoming 2.1.0 you’ll be able to choose from 3 widgets that you can add to your watch face as well as to your iPhones homescreen. Stay tuned, the update will roll out within the upcoming days. Happy crafting. Julian

Can’t change row number

Why does everything say 45 rows? I want to see that I have to do 24 rows, not 45

Response from developer

Hi Sab1111, the 45 is just a preview how it would look after 45 rows/rounds. Once you’ve saved the item it will start at the round/row you’ve selected as start point.

Potential

Easy and straightforward but it closes every time my watch goes to sleep and needs to be reopened from the app list. So frustrating. I cannot leave my watch “always on” because then the battery doesn’t last the day.

Response from developer

Version 2.0.0 is now available and should work as intended for you. Let me know if you’re still facing any issues. Happy knitting! 🧶

Times out

By the time I’m done a row, the watch face is back on screen and I have to navigate back to the app. I assumed it would stay open until I closed it. This makes it not worth the bother.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback and for using my app. I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the watch face returning to the screen while you are using the app. This is a setting that you can change in the Apple Watch itself, not in the app. Here are the steps to do so: Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Tap General. Under Return to Clock, choose After 1 hour. This will keep the app open for one hour after you wake the screen, unless you press the Digital Crown or the side button. Alternatively, you can change this setting from the Watch app on your iPhone. Here are the steps: Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap My Watch. Tap General, then tap Wake Screen. Under Return to Clock, choose After 1 hour. You can also turn on Always On for your Apple Watch, if it is compatible, to see the app even when your wrist is down. To learn more about this feature, you can visit this page. I hope this helps you enjoy the app better. If you have any other questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me. I appreciate your support and your rating. Have a great day

Watch update broke it

I’ve been using this pretty successfully for years. Great to have multiple projects. I have it as a complication on my watch face so I can quickly tap the count when needed. This last watch update broke the app so that every time I tap my the face the app needs to launch from scratch instead of just taking me to my active count. That means I need to navigate a few screens to tap the count. Any lans for an update?

I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble with Yarnify. To count up, press the “+” button on the piece detail view. The “-“ button to count down is hidden unless you force press and then activate the “Show Minus Button” option. You can also press the “Minus” option, if you want to count down once, but keep the minus button hidden in the detail view. Once you activate the pattern repeat, you should see a different counter suited for working with patterns. Please contact me at support@dschu.de for further assistance.

Disparu!!!

Grrrr!

Response from developer

Hi Kimy, you’ll need to download it from the AppStore on your Apple Watch. You can use the search to find the app. Let me know if it helped and please consider to update your review as this help me. Thanks a lot!

WatchOS6?

I was having trouble doing things on the app and went to the website and it said there watchOS6 or later. My Apple Watch is version 4. I cannot see in the App Store that an Apple Watch 6 is needed. I cannot find instructions anywhere on how to use the app.

Response from developer

watchOS is the operating on your Apple Watch. watchOS 6 refers to version 6 of the operating system. Your Apple Watch S4 can run watchOS 6 and therefore this app. If you need further assistance, write me an email at support@dschu.de.

Not working with Apple Watch anymore

Up until now I liked this app a lot. I downloaded the latest Apple iOS software update & now it no longer appears as an app option on my watch. When I go on my iPhone to reload it it says the app was purchased but it no longer appears on my watch as an
option. PLEASE NOTE UPDATE BELOW 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🥲

Update: Julian helped me a great deal walking me through the process of going through the App Store on my watch (not my iPhone). Apple prompted me I already purchased the app & just redownloaded it. Works fine now!!! I appreciate Julian’s patience & perseverance.

Nifty...

...and just what I needed, but can you add a minus button to the row counter? Some of us make mistakes sometimes 🙄

Doesn’t retain count

I was excited and thought this was just what I was looking for, but unfortunately it does not work. After increasing the number I saw it randomly change in front of my eyes. Certainly not worth the cost unless this bug is fixed. You also can’t subtract or reset. There are options that look promising when you start a new “piece” such as pattern repeat and ‘start at round’ but these things have no explanation and do not seem to work.

Too Inconsistent

When this app works, it works great, and I was really excited at the possibility of using it to keep track of multiple projects with multiple components AND being able to use it on my watch. But it’s too inconsistent for me to say that the app really works.

It will add or subtract rows all on its own, which means counting rows by hand - the very task I was hoping to avoid when I purchased the app and that it’s designed to replace. There’s no way to subtract a row if the app has added it on its own or if one is added with an accidental tap. (Update: I read another review that was also frustrated with the inability to subtract a row and it turns out that it’s possible through a force press, so I’m less frustrated now. Still frustrated with the way it drops rows on its own though. I had to frog 440 stitches when I realized that issue.)

Overall, I’m not sure it’s worth the price - I could’ve messed up my counting without the app and used that money to buy an Egg McMuffin or something. Hopefully these issues are resolved in a future update because, like I said, I was really excited at the potential and LOVE that it’s on my watch.

I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble with Yarnify. I have submitted an updated version to the AppStore (1.0.3), which should resolve any issues regarding cloud synchronization. Please let me know, if that solves the problem for you at support@dschu.de. Thank you for the time you took to write your review.

Perfect

I have been waiting a long time for the ideal counter app for my knitting projects and I’m so glad I found this one. It has everything I’ve been looking for, especially the ability to see and configure section repeats. Perfect app and an absolute must for every knitter that has an Apple Watch.

Unresponsive Apple Watch App

Count-up button doesn’t respond half the time, so you exit the piece, still no response, then hit it again and it counts up twice. But you can’t rewind. Useless.
