Not as bad as reviews say
I have been using this app routinely for the last months and never had any errors or bugs. The reservation system, schedules and reservations work well and that's the most important functionality for me.
One of the worst apps
Let’s start with the member ID number. At my Y, they require about 10 zeros before the actual member number (another 5 digits) to be used in the app for login. Does the Y really expect over a billion people to use their membership??
This is either a very lazy programmer or someone who doesn’t know how to truncate numbers. Writing to dev support is also a joke so it’s up to the front desk of the Y facilities to defend the poorly written app.
Will someone actually address these issues??

App support not responsive
Second update: the card in Apple wallet does not show your barcode on Apple Watch, meaning I can’t leave my phone at home when I go to work out. That’s the whole reason I need Apple wallet support! Please fix.
Update: Adding your membership card to Apple wallet now works, but without any response from the developers. I know when to fight my battles, so I’ll increase my rating. I don’t use this app for any other feature but signing in to my local Y, so I can’t speak to any other feature besides that.

Great app
I’m not a person who likes apps, but this one is super convenient to be able to check class and instructor assignment easily
Worst
Need a zero. The Apple Watch interface gives you the card lol… did the developer even try to use that to get into the Y? Try the barcode. And oh yeah, signing up for lap swim, it is a close call if literally calling in to the Y isn’t faster and easier. I get that we don’t want to waste money on a fancy app. But shouldn’t the most important things be getting into the building with a barcode and signing up for classes?

Can’t login
I just joined, and can log into my affiliate’s website after verifying my email. The app tells me that my account is not found or inactive. Kind of a basic use case to fail. Failing a login attempt with a reason before a password is sent is a fundamental auth anti-pattern. If my credentials take a day to propagate and work tomorrow, then it’s terrible architecture but I’ll add a star if it functions at all.

Good App
The YMCA app provides a good user experience with its straightforward class sign-up and helpful features. It's a reliable tool that enhances the overall YMCA experience, and I'd recommend it to fellow members or those considering joining.
New update
Love how interactive the new version is; especially nice to scroll through all the schedules for any given day. Check in is a breeze!
Cannot use
I have entered my information and it will not let me open the app. I contacted my local Y they sent out a troubleshoot request. No one got back to me and there is no costumer service for this app. So frustrating.
It’s fine
The app works fine. I’ve added my pass to the wallet, but it will randomly disappear. I’ve added it multiple times and changed the settings in the wallet app. The pass will disappear after a few days.
Cannot use the app
I really wanted to use the app to easily check-in & see the classes coming up, but I can’t log in 😓 hopefully they can fix this soon
Makes you re-sign in
The app doesn’t let you search for a class my the day very easily. You might be able to choose your location. But then you have to scroll to find the day. If you go to far then you have to re-do it. You can’t actually see the class discription because it’s too small. WORSE yet when you do find the class you want to sign up for, you have to RE-LOGIN for EVERY ClASS!!!!! Worst app I’ve ever used

App needs a lot of work
The app is very cumbersome. We should be able to choose our home location which would make it easier to pull up classes. When you're searching for a class the selection process takes up 80% of the screen and then the classes only show one at a time and you have to scroll through them at the bottom.I only use the app for check in now.

Accessing the app
After I logging into the app whenever I select my name I get error messages. Nothing after the member’s display screen.
Don’t trust
When the first step is to enter your local branch, and the list of closest branches doesn’t include your actual local branch, I’m not trusting it enough to enter my info. Looks crude and amateur.
Completely worthless
It just keeps looping me through a login screen prompting me to select which account out of my family to login with. It never prompts for my password or anything else or gives an error.
A downgrade from the app from before
I was using the YMCA app specific to Hampton Roads before and that had way more functionality before we switched to this app. I want to be able to see classes for multiple locations at once, and this app don’t do that. And I miss being able to see all the exercises and customize my own workout.
Terrible!
Terrible app; doesn’t work! Immediately goes to website, foregoing the app all together, requiring a new sign in each time!
Must be developed by a competitor!
Why bother. Useless in finding anything. Was any testing done at all. Please remove from AppStore.
Worst app ever
I just joined the y a week ago and have yet been able to sign into the app. Have tried alone with the staff of the y.
