The camera feature is not very useful comparing to Goggle Translate.
I payed 39$ for the full version so I could use the camera feature to translate symbols during my trip in Japan. The app could not provide any good translation of sentences which is basically useless. I just deleted the app and switched to Google Translate which works perfectly and it’s free.

Hello. I agree with you. Yomiwa is more of a dictionary for word by word definitions, example sentences, study lists and flashcards. My fav Japanese dictionary app
I tried 5 different Japanese dictionary apps before settling on Yomiwa. The interface, functionality, and the fact that it’s free made it a clear winner.
I also discovered recently that the developer is incredibly responsive to bug fixes and suggestions!!! Literally they pushed out a requested update in less than 24 hours . You guys are the best!!

Great for translating
I am using this to learn about Japanese by changing my console language to it. This is far better than Google Translate. I just need to learn the apps potential too many features I haven’t even used yet
About using experience
This is the best application for study to Japanese because it's covered full areas in language's Japanese

Its getting clunky
Compared to the first time i use it, its getting clunky and live translation through camera triggers the app to close down more often

Excellent App and Supportive Developer!
I have many Japanese apps but Yomiwa is the one I use every single day. I use it for my kanji study (and I highly recommend the Outlier kanji dictionary add on) and as an excellent dictionary when reading.
All of the features have worked very well for me — especially Lists and Text Analyzer.
I use Lists to keep track of groups of kanji I am currently studying as well as for fast and easy review of past groups.
I also give top marks and thanks to Yomiwa’s developer — who is very responsive!
Recently something went wrong and I lost all of my lists on my iPhone but not on my iPad. Try as I might I couldn’t restore the lists on my iPhone. I reached out to the developer who got back to me right away, took the time to review my backup files to figure out what had caused the issue and successfully resolve it for me.
Yomiwa is absolutely the very best app with an incredible developer.

The most complete Japanese dictionary
This app is truly incredible. It has helped me tremendously in my studies of Japanese. It has so many features, too many to list here. I’ve used it for many years now! Absolutely recommend it!

Great Japanese vocabulary
I’ve been using this app for 5 years, it combines both meaning and how to write kanji. Most of the time I only remember half word and it’s easy to find it with “start with” or “ends with” option. It translates not just in English but in many languages. I would totally recommend. It’s very useful the “create folder”, since I can divide many categories of words, plus there’s a section of “word of the day” to improve your vocabulary. Verbs have every conjugation and it can also give you examples.

I love this app. I use it regularly and it virtually never lets me down. I especially like the ability to use the touch screen to input any kanji I want to translate in a hurry. You can also use this on Android and iOS . Totally recommend 😊
Sync between devices not working
When I start the app my lists have changed with random kanji from other lists and I have to delete them. Please fix this.

My favorite dictionary app on both Android and iOS. There’s only so much databases you can draw from (JMDict here) so I ended up on Yomiwa for its usability and polished UI. However, it would be nice to have an alternative app icon design which better fits with the new Liquid Glass themes. The current white background feels a little out of place.

The dictionary is good, but what I find it a plus is the ability to draw the kanji I’m looking for on my phone to search. I always keep imiwa and this app
