Never know where is 1.0 or 2.0 station
Their interface is working against users - you cannot check if the rental station is for 2.0 or 1.0, i rented a 1.0 bike once and my destination had 2.0 station only, I cycled farther to 1.0 and walked back same amount of time! Why they made is more difficult for users to rent bikes? This is just ridiculous

Pretty bad update.
Hopefully this total redesign is less crash-prone and will update the station information quicker. But not being able to quickly view as a list nearby stations with the number of available bikes/parking spaces is a downgrade in UI. Now with the map-only view, it takes a tap on the station to view the information (which is also smaller than the old version, harder to read).
Add the list view back in or make the information on nearby station's number of available bikes more easily viewable.

No global language support
Like almost every thoughtlessly designed app in Taiwan, this one is only available in Traditional Chinese. If you're one of the millions of tourists who visit Taiwan every year from the rest of the planet, and would like to rent a bike using this app, good luck navigating this Chinese UI.

The non official versions work better. As the official app it really should do better - more intuitive and streamlined.

Isn't tourism one of the purposes of Youbike? Also ugly, bad design (two careful taps to get to the map view).
Positive points: the app opens more quickly now. The last refresh timer is helpful.
