Need to add battery power at beginning of journey

Need to add battery power at beginning of journey, otherwise the stops and charges are out of synchronization

Terrible

Extremely buggy.

So useful

It is really helpful to be able to check out a route that is not necessarily the quickest or most economic.

Not getting any the pay prompt

Used to work fine but no longer getting the pre-prompts just getting successful Charge or reporting this issue

EV Charging Musthave

This is the best app I have found to date for a range of different charging providers. I have struggled to get the payment process to work on some so have also downloaded others, but this is still my go to when looking for chargers

Was good not so much anymore.

Zapmap was very good a couple of years ago.
Now I cannot find a lot of the chargers I use.
Also new chargers take half a year to appear.
I now use google itself or ABRP as zap map has not developed or seems not maintained.

Rail

To make your dispute sound professional and clear for a British customer service team, here is a polished version:
"I am writing to dispute two outstanding pre-authorisation charges on my account following two recent charging sessions. On both occasions, I had to pre-authorise my card twice because the initial attempts failed.
It has now been 10 days since the first transaction, yet there is still £60 showing as 'pending' on my card. The actual costs for my EV charging have already been settled in full.
Please release these held funds immediately. It is unacceptable to withhold my money for this length of time.

Not great app

Charged my car on 01.05.2026 for £3.52. Has been charged authorisation fee of £30 and some other fee of £0.05. Today 02.05.2026 authorisation fee still not adjusted. Emailed support team and provided receipt for transaction but received basic info about authorisation fee what I already know. Zero star to customer support and app. Won’t use this app from now. Luckily I have 14 day trial before they charge for subscription. 100% cancellation now

My go-to app

This is my go-to app for EV charging points in the UK. It’s generally up to date and the ‘chat’ tab is helpful to get extra info. It hasn’t always been accurate e.g. I visited a charging point in Newport that had completely closed down but was still showing as active here hence 4*

Infuriating

A struggle to register and so hard to add payment info I’m giving up and going to find another app.

EV route & charging app

This is the best app when it comes to EV cars

Charging money but not the car

The cost is happening but the car not charging at Leicester pod point on zap

Zapmap keeps getting better

Zapmap now has live pricing so you can see where you can charge and hunt out the best deals. The app just keeps getting better.

Excellent app and service

Outstanding ease of use

Where’s my phone app?

Having to write this on my tablet as the phone app has disappeared and will not reinstall.

Error

When I look at the map without creating a route Rugby services is shown correctly with Gridserve and Tesla chargers. But If I create a route from Norwich to Lymm no chargers are shown at Rugby services. I reported this over a year ago and nothing has been done or even acknowledged. I pay for this service. How many other errors does the software have.

Don’t Trial Premium

If you trial premium and you forget to cancel by one day they will deny your refund request and charge you for a full year! Avoid avoid avoid.

Pricing is not clear

My reason for using zapmap with a subscription was mainly all about finding reasonably priced chargers - because I have to rely on public charging. The app is terrible and frequently charges more than directly using the charge operator, despite supposedly offering a discount when on a subscription. It's a waste of money and there's better apps out there!

Getting worse

This used to be one of the best apps for finding chargers but it’s just getting worse by the day. There is a huge amount of chargers missing and details just plain wrong. It relies way too much on public input for everything and is never updated.

The pricing flags are genius

When going somewhere I’ve not been before ZapMap has always been go-to source of details of public charging. The new pricing flags are brilliant feature.
