Edit: Zappos’s customer/user facing and design teams certainly could not take blame for Amazon’s UX choices and direction, so one can only despair Amazon’s bias for retina scalding in a UI. For this iteration of the app’s experience(mid 2026), one could just use the web site, it looks nearly identical on start up. Original: White screen on start up . Super irritating for those that have dark theme selected. The app ignores its own theme setting, and instead shows an Amazon-esque splash screen with glaring white background. If one wanted that, one could simply use the Amazon app, which completely ignores theme settings . Further, even more irritating is the non-dismissible banner for whatever the current, not-relevant-to-me promotion is. three stars because filtering is useful. Probably only a matter of time before Amazon merges Zappos into the Amazon app.

Returns issues
Every time I make a return they don’t even give my money back, I’ve done two returns this year, and every time I’ve waited 2 months per return, and it’s because I talk to the support to get it back, because if I don’t, they will never move, it’s very frustrating because it wouldn’t have to be like that.

Zappos used to be my go-to for affordable shoes, but now prices aren’t worth it. No bargains - local stores are cheaper.
