Good content, terrible app

This app needs serious work. It contains a lot of helpful content, but the interface is terrible: riddled with typos that range from distracting to incomprehensible; tools that are barely usable, especially as stand-alone tools (outside of the modules); a glitchy and poorly designed scheduling tool; and no clear roadmap for how to progress through the app. I experienced some improvement while going through modules but it didn’t last. Maybe I would have seen improvement with long-term use of the tools, but since they’re not user-friendly at all, that wasn’t feasible.

Good idea, but irritating in execution

Minor things first: the app lacks polish.
- There are a lot of bugs and distracting typos
- Several questions from the questionnaires and logs should really have a “not applicable” option (ex. the period pain question)
- It would be nice to have either closed captioning or transcripts available for the video/audio portions to improve accessibility

Then there’s the big issue: the cost. Why are the modules behind a subscription paywall? I understand why the coaching program is a subscription, as it is an ongoing interactive service, but the pre-written modules? Granted, the subscription does cover 3 months, while the module program is only supposed to be 6 weeks, but it would be quite irritating to have to pay another $49.99 any time you wanted to refer back to the modules after the 3 month period is up. It would be much more reasonable to have these unlocked permanently with a one-time purchase, or just have the app cost money up-front and include the cost of the modules there.

The non-paid content only includes a log function, a few questionnaires, a handful of tips/goals, and the bot chat function (which, from what I’ve read in other reviews, is not particularly helpful). I can’t see myself using this app long-term for the free content alone, and I just don’t think the subscription cost for the modules is worth it.

Works really well!!!

As a therapist I am well aware of the benefits of CBT and hypnotherapy, the mind-body link, so when I saw Zemedy the approach made instant sense to me as a way to help with IBS symptom improvement. Love the way these interventions are delivered in a pretty cool and easy to use digital format! Find the tools and exercises particularly helpful to complement my daily exercise and mindfulness routine.

Recommend this app as I definitely see the link in my patients between their distress and their physical symptoms, it’s a nifty non-drug approach to healing.

An app that is so needed

I’ve been really happy with the app! They’ve recently done an update presenting the content in stories format which makes it very easy to go through the modules, they’re quite entertaining and helpful!

I’ve been able to track my symptoms holistically and get feedback on my potential triggers. I’m only half way through, but already feel a lot more positive about managing my gut symptoms that have been troubling me especially since COVID.

I whole heartedly recommend it!

I feel much better!

Useful app for helping manage my IBS. Zemedy is full of helpful information, and I started practicing with the tools. Since I started using the tools 2-3 times per week, I’ve been less concerned about my IBS symptoms and haven’t had a flare up for weeks. The Yoga needs a bit more work to be on par with other platforms but it’s still nice to have it included.

App Description Seemed Very Apathetic and Lacking Any Compassion or Empathy

Which is why I only joined this app to write this review. First of all, you claim to be certified in the treatment of others by ways of CBT, and how rude, or should I say arrogant it is of your failure to give any type of description at all as to what CBT is, let along what it’s initials even stand for while you were busy writing your depiction for your marketing scheme to sell your app. Only practicing unlicensed therapists or bots would be so unprofessional as to have an app based solely upon CBT treatment, and fail to inform their public of what that even fu€king means!!
Everyone CBT means “COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY” What it is?
It’s exactly what it’s called.. It’s utilized as another type of Behavioral Therapy for help with
many types of issues including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and even drug abuse.
It’s retraining your brain to learn how to think differently and use better coping methods and strategies to improve the way your brain behaves and functions which could improve your cognitive function, with that said, you can also do “GESTALT THERAPY” which is therapy that helps you with in the “NOW” and builds on your self awareness in current situations you might be dealing with in life such as anxiety, stress, trauma, or emotional instability that you may not yet recognize within yourself due to other behaviors or feelings masking them such as anger for example, and gestalt therapy will will help teach you how to decipher yourself so you can better control yourself, and that too will give you a happier state of mind and wellness all throughout your whole body. In turn greatly reducing your stress levels and that will put your mind more at ease, and give you a more relaxed state of sense in turn helping with the anxiety, so that’s what I say basically, if you’re going to spend money don’t spend it on this apathetic app, instead go and purchase yourself a self help book on “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” or “Gestalt Therapy” and do it yourself instead of trusting some schmucks you know on your phone to talk to. Don't give these people not even a second more of your time or energy. Just give me enough time, and please finish my well thought out and typed review. Thanks in Advance.

Check qualifications
Psychotherapist is a general term, rather than a job title or indication of education, training or licensure. Examples of psychotherapists include psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed professional counselors, licensed social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurses, or other licensed professionals with mental health training.

Before seeing a psychotherapist, check his or her:

Background and education. Trained psychotherapists can have a number of different job titles, depending on their education and role. Most have a master's or doctoral degree with specific training in psychological counseling. Medical doctors who specialize in mental health (psychiatrists) can prescribe medications as well as provide psychotherapy.
Certification and licensing. Make sure that the therapist you choose meets state certification and licensing requirements for his or her particular discipline.
Area of expertise. Ask whether the therapist has expertise and experience treating your symptoms or your area of concern, such as eating disorders or PTSD.
The key is to find a skilled therapist who can match the type and intensity of therapy with your needs.

What you can expect
Cognitive behavioral therapy may be done one-on-one or in groups with family members or with people who have similar issues.

Yep, I’m willing to bet no one here has any of these qualifications, if so, “WHIP THEM OUT!” Let’s see ‘em, come on and prove me wrong, any way it’s mandatory that you provide your credentials as proof, nobody should be purchasing anything further from your app service and those who have should be given a refund immediately, especially if you’re going to be treating people using CBT, cuz that would be illegal as stipulated unless you’re able to furnish evidence of a license, and I don’t play games when it comes to parasites attempting to scam others out of their money while trying to impersonate the really real people.
I really don’t like malpractice on human beings either we’re not your toys nor tools.

Great app idea, terrible execution.

You need a lot of patience to use this app. Usability bugs are everywhere. They are trying to make you believe you have a personalized chat discussion with Mel, their chat bot. Those discussions take a long, long time to complete and you get very little information out of them.

The app idea is good. The information presented is also good. The execution is horrible.

Don't upgrade!

Upgrade makes this a paid app only and now you won't be able to login with your existing account. Very disappointing
