Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: TripShot at 4.8 against Dallas Trolley's 2.7. TripShot also leads on ratings volume (5.3K vs 12) and chart position (#53 vs unranked). Dallas Trolley's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (45% vs 22%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
TripShot holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TripShot has 5.3K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of TripShot's written reviews are positive against 45% of Dallas Trolley's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
TripShot ships an update every 5 weeks, Dallas Trolley weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
