Verdict
The clearest difference is price: HamAlert at Free against Morse eMail's $0.99. HamAlert also leads on ratings volume (34 vs 1) and review sentiment (67% vs 50%). Morse eMail's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 5 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

HamAlert is free to download; Morse eMail costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Morse eMail holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HamAlert has 34 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Morse eMail's written reviews are positive against 67% of HamAlert's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Morse eMail ships an update every 3 months, HamAlert every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
