Run intervals, rep tempos and circuits with timing you can read while training. Choose a mode, configure your session and keep the next phase in sight. Tempo separates each part of a repetition; MIX connects the stages of a circuit. Use Apple Watch for wrist-based timing. Nine modes are free. Pro supports up to 20 saved configurations and unlimited MIX blocks, as described in the app. TEMPO, EMOM, TABATA, AMRAP, For Time, MIX, Rest, Stopwatch and Mirror cover strength work, intervals and recovery. The timers and Apple Watch app remain free, with no account, ads or session limit. The free tier keeps two saved configurations and two-block MIX circuits. Previously acquired access remains available. Pro offers an annual subscription, a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices in your currency appear in the In-App Purchases section of this page and on the Pro screen in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage them in your Apple Account settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Interval Timer at 4.8 against TempoReps's 4.0. Interval Timer also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 67%) and ratings volume (164 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and TempoReps sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 164 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 92% of Interval Timer's written reviews are positive against 67% of TempoReps's.
Interval Timer ships an update every 3 days, TempoReps every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
