Verdict
Próximo Ferry and Renfe both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Próximo Ferry's written reviews are positive against 8% of Renfe's. Renfe's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Próximo Ferry against 4.6 for Renfe. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Renfe has 3.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of Próximo Ferry's written reviews are positive against 8% of Renfe's.
Próximo Ferry ships an update every 5 months, Renfe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
