Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: Multifocal Lens Analyzer at freemium against Scribd's subscription. Multifocal Lens Analyzer also leads on rating (3.0 vs 2.8) and iOS requirement (13 vs 17.0). Scribd's advantage is ratings volume (275 vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Multifocal Lens Analyzer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $45.99 per year and Scribd sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Multifocal Lens Analyzer holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scribd has 275 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Multifocal Lens Analyzer ships an update every 2 months, Scribd fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
