Vibration meter is an app called seismograph or seismometer, which measures the strength of vibration, quakes, earthquakes, vibrations of the human body or any other objects around you. Our app allows for detecting and recording of seismic waves generated by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, avalanches and other sources of vibration and shocks. Accelerometer in your mobile phone is used for detection of vibrations and measurement analysis. Graph presents a record of the ground motion at a measuring point. Ground movement or an object is presented as a function of time in the three Cartesian axes, with the z axis perpendicular to the Earth's surface and the x- and y- axes parallel to the surface. Mercalli intensity scale is a seismic scale used for measuring the intensity of an earthquake. It measures the effects of an earthquake and it is distinct from the moment of magnitude. Richter Scale assigns a magnitude number to quantify the energy released by an earthquake. Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) is equal to the maximum ground acceleration that occurred during earthquake shaking at location. PGA is equal to the amplitude of the largest absolute acceleration recorded on an accelerogram at a site during a particular earthquake. In this app we use Instrumental Intensity Scale (developed by The United States Geological Survey) which maps peak ground acceleration and peak ground velocity on an intensity scale similar to the felt Mercalli Scale. These values are used to create shake maps by seismologists on around the world. Mercalli Intensity Scale distinguishes the following levels of vibration and impact damage: I. Instrumental - Not felt. Recorded by seismographs. II. Weak - Felt only on top floors of high buildings. III. Slight - Felt indoors, like a passing light truck. IV. Moderate - Windows, doors rattle. Like passing train. V. Rather Strong - Felt by all. Small objects upset. VI. Strong - Books off shelves. Trees shake. Damage. VII. Very Strong - Difficult to stand. Buildings damaged. VIII. Destructive - Significant damage. Trees broken. IX. Violent - General panic. Serious damage. Cracks. X. Intense - Most buildings destroyed. Rails bent. XI. Extreme - Rails bent greatly. Pipelines destroyed. XII. Catastrophic - Near total damage. This app allows you monitor and share the results of your measurements with other users. Measure and monitor all vibration and shocks using smartphone or tablet!

A simple yet effective EMF detector! The detector is as ACCURATE as the sensor of your device. You can use this simple application to detect EMF (Electromagnetic Fields). Which is given off by many electrical devices, power cables and even ghosts! Its suitable for paranormal investigators. And for detecting dangerous levels of EMF within your environment. Our EMF Analytics app offers more functionality and sensory data than most competitive apps. The live EMF reading is shown, as well as previous readings with the timelapse graph. You can switch between Mirotesla (uT) and Milligauss (mG) measurement units. The minimum and maximum readings or also kept on screen throughout your session on the app. The large bright LED's with different colours will show the strength level of the EMF. Sound and vibrations can be turned on and off so you don't miss any spikes. We have included a light option to turn your devices flashlight on and off. Which is ideal for paranormal investigations who wish to ghost hunt in the dark. X, Y, Z readings also help show the axis on which the strongest readings are being detected. Features - Current EMF reading displayed - Previous EMF readings are shown on the graph - The minimum and maximum readings are displayed - Toggle for Mirotesla (uT) and Milligauss (mG) - Flashlight can be turned on and off - Large coloured lights show EMF reading strength - Sound and vibration can be turned on and off - Screen will not lock whilst in use - Well-presented UI - X,Y,Z axis displayed This app uses the built-in magnetic sensor (compass) inside your device. And displays the live reading with a line of coloured LEDs, giving you a clear view of EMF levels. You can switch between units of measurement Mirotesla (uT) and Milligauss (mG) quickly and easily with a toggle button. You can use this application to quickly measure and magnetism and electromagnetism, earths geomagnetic field, ghosts and electrical devices. It can be used as a detector for EMF, magnets, metals, ghosts and paranormal entities. IMPORTANT: This app uses your devices built in magnetic sensor. If your phone or device does not have this sensor, the app will not display any measurements. If the readings are 0, it means that this app is not able to work on your device. Please avoid placing your phone near high voltage electrical devices like transformers, as you may damage it. Use the app at your own risk.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Vibration Meter, seismograph at 4.7 against EMF Analytics's 4.0. Vibration Meter, seismograph also leads on ratings volume (717 vs 69). EMF Analytics's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 7 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vibration Meter, seismograph sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. EMF Analytics asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Vibration Meter, seismograph holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vibration Meter, seismograph has 717 ratings behind it against 69, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Vibration Meter, seismograph's written reviews are positive against 66% of EMF Analytics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Vibration Meter, seismograph ships an update every 7 months, EMF Analytics every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
