Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) may present with obsessions, compulsions, or both. Obsessions and compulsions are often distressing, time-consuming, and impairing. Everyone has worried about germs or losing something or someone getting hurt. These thoughts tend to be fleeting and do not disrupt daily living. If these thoughts are constantly occurring, uncontrollable, intrusive, and cause a lot of anxiety or stress, then they may be considered 'obsessions.' Everyone has felt the need to double check that the door is locked or arrange items in a correct way. If you perform these actions like a ritual or with rigid rules in order to prevent or reduce anxious thoughts, or if these actions greatly disrupt your life, then they may be considered 'compulsions.' This app is designed to evaluate your symptoms of OCD with a scientifically-supported 18-question test. It uses the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory - Revised (OCI-R), a screening questionnaire for OCD that is commonly used in research and healthcare settings. The OCI-R is also helpful for monitoring your OCD-related symptoms during and after treatment. OCD Test contains four tools: - Start Test: take the OCI-R questionnaire to assess OCD symptoms - History: see a history of your test scores to monitor your symptoms over time - Information: learn about OCD and discover additional resources that can help you on your path to recovery - Reminder: set up notifications to re-take the questionnaire at your convenience Disclaimer: The OCI-R is NOT a diagnostic test. A diagnosis can only be provided by a qualified healthcare professional. Please consult a physician or mental health professional if you are concerned about OCD. References: Foa, E. B., Huppert, J. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: OCD.app at every 4 days against OCD Test's every 7 months. OCD.app also leads on ratings volume (3.4K vs 331) and chart position (#150 vs unranked). OCD Test's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 51%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. OCD.app sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and OCD Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for OCD.app against 4.7 for OCD Test. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OCD.app has 3.4K ratings behind it against 331, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 51% of OCD.app's written reviews are positive against 67% of OCD Test's.
OCD.app ships an update every 4 days, OCD Test every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 8, 2026 respectively.
