Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: myRogerMic at 4.5 against IQbuds's 3.1. myRogerMic also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). IQbuds's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

myRogerMic holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: myRogerMic has 2.2K ratings behind it against 55, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of IQbuds's written reviews are positive against 46% of myRogerMic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

IQbuds ships an update every 3 months, myRogerMic every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
